Raymond’s POV The first thing that struck me was the sound. The arena was alive with it—rolling waves of voices, cries, growls, chants, all mixing together until it no longer sounded like language, but like the roar of a storm. I stood just behind Jude’s platform, half-hidden in the shadows, clutching the railing so tightly my hands ached. The Crimson Arena was vast, carved out of black stone and ringed with fire that burned with unnatural colors—purple, green, and deep crimson. The flames licked upward as though they fed not on oil or wood, but on something living. The smell made me gag.

A test. Crystal’s flames lit the treeline, bursts of fire carving through the dark as rogues lunged from every side. She had fought enough battles to know when wolves moved with purpose, when they had been trained… or when they were simply desperate enough to sell their teeth. These ones were sloppy, but numerous. And most telling of all… they wore no sigils, and no pack colors. “Rogues,” Ryder growled, his voice loud as he tore through one, golden eyes blazing. Aiden howled within him, wild and furious. “But too many for chance.”

Ryle calmly asked, raising her brow. “Who are you to question?” Bruce growled. He’s one of our more traditional males who believes that women aren’t made to fight. They are made to be seen and not heard. Ryker bristled at Bruce’s comment. “My name is Ryker RedFang and she,” he pointed to his sister, “is my sister, Ryle RedFang and we are RedFang Defense, your Elite warrior trainers and my sister is your future Luna.” he smirked.

The elders were in position. Everything was ready. Everything except.. Them. Ryan and Crystal. There they were. Crystal emerged first, stepping into the ceremony like she was born for this moment. She was dressed in deep crimson, the silk catching the light, flowing around her like liquid fire. She was glowing,radiant, triumphant. And at her side.. Ryan. Dressed in dark ceremonial robes, the embroidered silver sigils of his lineage stark against the black fabric. A crown of iron and bone rested against his brow, a symbol of his place, his power, his duty.

“Hopefully that will clear the air.” “We’ll see,” Alaric says. Noel hesitates a moment, glancing at me. Then he says, “CrimsonFang.” Alaric pauses, as do I. The CrimsonFang pack is the most secluded and mysterious of all packs. They value their secrets above all else. A traveler would never claim that pack as their own, knowing they might be hunted both from without and within. For Noel to share this here is an extreme show of trust. Alaric seems to come to that conclusion as well. He sits back in his chair. “Very well,” he says, and we proceed with breakfast. The matter of Noel’s past does not come up again.

The midnight skyline of Port Apex was obscured by a thick fog, turning the massive steel cranes into looming phantoms over the black water. Inside the glass-walled command center of Vance Enterprise, the air was sharp with cold air conditioning. Massive wall monitors glowed with real-time global trade routes, but three major digital corridors stretching from Singapore to Rotterdam had suddenly flashed from deep blue to a stark, ominous crimson. Victoria stood before the central map, a glass of untouched scotch resting in her palm. The amber liquid caught the harsh red glare of the screens. She had discarded her blazer, wearing a sleeveless midnight-black tailored vest over her crisp blouse.

Lin’s casual demeanor, but I quickly got back to my pitch. “Alpha Killian of Eclipse said that you were looking to hire some warriors to act as a private security detail for you,” I said. “I would like to put forth a proposal for you to partner with Crimson Fang.” “Crimson Fang has not worked in the security sector before,” Mr. Lin said. “Are you sure that your warriors can handle the job?” “I’m sure they can,” I said confidently. “Even though they haven’t been directly trained in security protocol, they have all been trained by me personally. You will not find better fighters in any other pack.”

“Yeah, the last thing we need right now is for King to declare war on Cambiador because I ripped Crimson's throat out.” “Uhm, yeah, I don’t think we need to take it that far.” I pause, hesitating to tell her but, in the end, I relent “Crimson says he doesn’t have a spirit animal,” I wait because I want to hear what she has to say before I divulge more information. “That’s impossible,” she queries “We all saw him shift at the battle, you have seen him shift several times, right?” “I have but… he maintains he is not a werecat.”

A collective gasp rippled through the study, the weight of impending doom pressing down on us all with renewed force. “Damn that Jermain!” King Brad bellowed, the force of his fury making the very table tremble beneath his clenched fist. “He has now kidnapped fifteen more she-wolves! Fifteen! From Silver Bow and Blue Moon. Alpha Zenic is beyond himself with grief and unbridled rage, that scumbag has also taken his daughter. Alpha Jack has already mobilized his forces.
