An endless landscape stretched beneath a sky that glowed deep crimson instead of blue. Black mountains pierced the horizon with rivers of glowing lava wound between them. Floating islands drifted through the sky. Lightning cracked soundlessly through clouds the color of dried blood. Towering castles of black stone stood in the distance, connected by enormous bridges suspended over endless darkness. And everywhere they were people or at least things that looked almost human. Some had crimson eyes. Others had horns curling from their foreheads. Some possessed great feathered wings as black as midnight. Others had tails, glowing markings, or skin that shimmered like obsidian.

Children placed flowers at the base of the Sacred Tree. Iris stood alone, watching the flames dance. She felt the weight of expectation, of rebirth, of blood. Aiden joined her, brushing her hand gently. “If we live,” he said, “what comes after?” She smiled faintly. “Then I stop being a weapon. And maybe… I get to be a person again.” His lips brushed her temple. “Then let’s make sure we live.” Scene 5: The Crimson Eclipse At sunrise, the sky dimmed instead of brightening. A false eclipse began, turning the sun to blood. The Moon Spire rose before them, ancient and monolithic, its black stone veined with molten silver.

And now, here I was, walking down an aisle lined with chrome and roses, heading straight into the lion’s den with a knife strapped to my thigh and revenge curled tightly inside my gut like a fist. The rev of bikes outside rumbled like a heartbeat. The compound stank of oil, leather, cigar smoke, and secrets. Tulle and flowers drooped over Harley frames like some sick joke. The scent of gasoline clung to everything. I couldn’t breathe without tasting rage. “Remember what they did to her,” my father, Vincent “Venom” Kane, president of the Crimson Fangs, growled beside me. His grip on my arm was tight, grounding. “Remember why you are here.”

I could remember I promised a sequel and it is here! It promises to be intriguing, suspense filled, steamy and of course a lot of action under the sheet and physically. I wrap my arms around her waist pulling her in for a chaste kiss before laying my forehead upon hers with a gentle hum. “Alpha Demetri Black is the head alpha of Crimson Dawn. Jamie called me a handful of times when Cole’s PTSD was triggered and Alpha Black needed a gentle way to bring him back. Jamie just found a package Alpha Black gave him that he didn’t expect to find addressed to me. A smartphone and a letter were found inside.” I break my hold on my mate and walk back to the table picking up the letter. I hand it to her and wait for her to finish reading. “All of us?”

The ground began to shake, the sky was covered with dark crimson shades, spreading rapidly. The top cracked, displaying abysmal darkness. It was a large crack in the sky showing the sky will crack to take the sinners to their worst nightmares. Thick, maroon coloured blood began to drip from it, it was rotten by one’s own sins, dripping continuously. Frightening everyone by the thick consistency of it.

I look down at Flavius to see him snuggled up with Vega. "Time to get up, we still have a ways to go before we reach the Horde of Fates," I say. At my words, both Flavius and Soren are stirred from sleep. Flavius stands up folding his blankets he packs them up with the rest of his gear. I wait for Flavius to eat before taking off once more. The cloudy sky is filled with growing patches of blue, the sort of hue that is soft and bright at the same time. The clouds are a deep gray like steel shadowing yet another snowy day.

The midnight skyline of Port Apex was obscured by a thick fog, turning the massive steel cranes into looming phantoms over the black water. Inside the glass-walled command center of Vance Enterprise, the air was sharp with cold air conditioning. Massive wall monitors glowed with real-time global trade routes, but three major digital corridors stretching from Singapore to Rotterdam had suddenly flashed from deep blue to a stark, ominous crimson. Victoria stood before the central map, a glass of untouched scotch resting in her palm. The amber liquid caught the harsh red glare of the screens. She had discarded her blazer, wearing a sleeveless midnight-black tailored vest over her crisp blouse.
