Death draws me towards it like we have been attached with an unbreakable string. Maybe it's just a superpower in which I get the last chance to save the person in front of me or maybe it’s a curse. Particularly a Crimson curse, as I like to call it. Through the years the number of deaths I have seen is greater than my age. You would think that death doesn't affect me anymore. You are right to think that because that is what I had thought until 5 days ago.

This was not the plan. The bond between us is stronger than anything I have ever known, a connection that defies explanation and transcends the boundaries of time and space. And yet, even as doubt gnaws at the edges of my consciousness, a flicker of hope remains—a glimmer of light in the darkness that surrounds me. I have accomplished the first step in this treacherous journey to end the curse. Octavia is mine. Now, I only needed to convince her to fall in love with the monster she married.

I didn’t need a tutorial on spells or protections, somehow knowing that the magic would come instinctively to me in my time of need. I had made it only a few stacks into the library when I found the book I was looking for: the one detailing the curse on Felix and the legend of the Destined Bride. The book was extremely straightforward, with one great exception: there was no mention of Sofia or Samuel, and even (and especially) their love. All it said was a great enchantress cast the curse, and it almost made it sound like it was cast for Felix specifically. I could see where Charles had gotten giddy–there was a short paragraph discussing how the prince’s pain could be temporarily cured by th

The shelves situated near the windows held a thousand of books, the only thing inside this room that really drew me in. My hands carefully brush the spines of the books. I pulled out one of the books that is entitled: Eros: A Cupid History and randomly opened it but instead of finding words in it, it reflected a couple of gold images floating on the cream colored pages. Mesmerize but bored, I pull out another one that is under the title of ‘Cupid Conundrums’. The letters and sentences appear golden against the cream pages. The paper, although old, smells like it was newly written, the font looks so elegant that it kind of reminds me of Grandma Aphrodite’s handwriting. “This is crazy! I have

Cupping my chin in his palm, he gently raises my head so I will look directly into his eyes. He says, “I have been consulting with a witch. Her name is Helen, and she has told me that your greatest gift is a curse instead. You have been cursed by someone with the gift of Aphrodite and that means every man you come in touch with, wants you. They have no control and eventually become mad with lust if they don’t have you. She has told me of a way that she thinks might be able to help, but you can never be cured. It will only lesser the curse so the men won’t be driven mad, however there may be consequences.”

Then Zayna's eyes looked me over from my head to my toes and back again . "And you are not her. You know why because Lukan has the Cupid Curse . " I blinked. Cupid Curse ? "It means he can't love anyone , he needs to find his true mate which he doesn't know of ,but anyone can give him a heir which is just a probability , dummy ." Zayna clicked her tongue." I guess you haven't heard it , it's rare and bad for an Alpha ." I felt so weak , my head was as blank as paper , I didn't know what to think, to say or even what to feel.

I nodded with an ingratiating smile. "But the curse is not broken yet." Nox leaned in, her breasts pressed on me, and flames burst in me for real this time. "I think you living happily is breaking the curse," I was admiring how fast I thought of this great answer as Nox stuck her nose on her bite mark, "the curse is you not able to find your mate, right? But now you got half a mate mark!" "Sounds about right..." Nox curved her lips but turned cold the next second--

If they knew, it wouldn’t take them long before they wiped us out. No one knew much about the curse. Or how we got it. Only that it was placed on us about a century ago. My father and grandfather thought there wasn’t any hope. Until it was prophesied that my mate would be the one to break the curse. She was supposed to bring hope and restoration. With her by my side, the pack would be restored to its former glory, and we would be stronger than we ever thought possible. Sadie ruined all that when she drugged me. Not only have I probably lost my mate for good, but I also lost the only hope I had for my pack surviving.

I press a hand there like I can hold my heart together by force. “The Lyovles’ choice determines the speed, not the outcome.” “All beings gone, only to be saved when a single generation who bears the curse is wiped out.” I slam the book shut. The sound echoes too loud in the room. “No,” I whisper again, shaking my head. “No, no, no.” The rumors can't be right! How am I a curse? I've never had any curse like feeling. How would someone cursed behave? Do they constantly take hidden stashes of candies and find Ethics classes boring?
