“That was impressive. I thought you’d crumble under all those insults, but you didn’t. You stood your ground and basically told them all to choke on it.”
He lifted the mechanical bow in his hand, turning it over as he added, “Didn’t think Amertigo’s wife had that kind of bite.”
“Well, you don’t know me,” I said, trying not to smile. “And… thanks, I guess.”
He looked up from the weapon, with a blank expression, that same calm, unreadable stare Adrian has, except Enzo’s felt more intense, somehow.. He didn’t blink much.
“You’re right,” he said after a long pause. “I don’t know you.”
