One section had gathered noticeably less dust than the others which meant someone had touched it recently. She stepped closer, running her fingers along the spines. History, treaties, council law. Then... One book refused to move with the others. She frowned, pulling harder. Instead of sliding free, it clicked, followed by a dull mechanical sound that echoed through the room. Selene stepped back as a narrow compartment opened inside the bookshelf, hidden away. A chill crawled beneath her skin as every instinct told her to step back. It was a secret button. I pressed it gently. With a very soft click, a hidden compartment popped open at the back of the desk. Inside the dark space sat a thick, heavy book with a dark leather cover. It was a hidden ledger. My heart began to beat faster inside my chest. I took the heavy book out of the hiding place and brought it into the pale moonlight by the window. I opened the first page, my blue doe eyes narrowing as I began to read the neat, cramped handwriting. As I turned the pages, a cold wave of shock and anger rushed through my veins.

The artwork I had come for was already set up. I signaled to a servant to unwrap it carefully. As the canvas was revealed, I stepped closer, heart racing. My fingers traced the painting’s surface, following every brushstroke, until I felt it—a small, hidden compartment tucked behind the artist’s signature. My pulse quickened. This was something else. He tapped his fingers lightly against the glass of his untouched whiskey. "What are you not telling me, Devon?" He leaned back in his chair, staring again at the skyline. The city below looked too serene for what he sensed building. Then he stood. He walked to the bookshelf on the far side of the room, slid aside a leather-bound volume that didn’t match the others, and pressed the concealed button behind it. A small drawer slid out from the paneling, revealing a locked compartment.

She let out a small sigh, feigning exasperation, “Even if I did know something, what makes you think I’d just hand it over to you?” I smiled, but then, my eyes caught onto something. There was a faint sliver of light escaping from the wall behind her, a near-invisible seam cutting through the smooth paneling. It was small, subtle, but noticeable if you paid enough attention. It was a hidden compartment. Why was there a hidden compartment inside this room, and what was inside? For some reason, I was really curious. Though it should not be much of a surprise when it comes to me and like they say, ‘Curiosity kills the cat' but in this case, it is a human.

There are a lot of books inside the locker and also a lot of money because the locker was a door through the big room of the Family. If I am a person that could easily dazzle with the money I'm sure that I won't go outside without bringing this all with me. And for almost 10 minutes of searching, at last, I saw a different kind of book It is a white book but still I need to confirm if this is the white book I've been looking for so I open it immediately and read what is inside of it and when I confirmed that this is the book I immediately hide it at my back and then I cover it with my shirt I closed the locker room. And then I slowly go out into the secret room.
