He gave me a sad smile as he tucked a stray hair on my ear. “Well, I am already upset. What is there to lose?” I crossed my arms as if saying ‘I’m waiting.’ “Okay.” He said in defeat. “It’s about this morning's news.” He glanced briefly at my blank face before continuing. “It says that three men were ground to the bones inside the meat shop in Hill Street. And…and one of those three men was my friend, Caleb.” He finished panting, like the thought of his friend being dead is consuming the life out of him. My eyes widened in mocked shock and disbelief. What got my attention was the fact that he knows Caleb Salazar. But the question was, to what extent?

After a pause, Nathan asked again, "What are your future plans, then?" He thought that Damian's excuse was quite far fetched to the point that it was probably made up. Damian replied, "Johnathan asked me to work at the security company." With that, Nathan realized that something was definitely off. Something must have happened. Damian is someone who has given his entire life to the military and the Clemon Group. He wouldn't say something like this! Looking at Damian, Nathan felt that the latter must be hiding something. Otherwise, he wouldn't return just like this.

Anna finished her story “Now, Damian, tell me, who is Sandra and what is your relation with Olivia?” Anna turned to Damian Damian sighed, he then said “Give me a minute!” He took his phone and made a call, “Sonia, please take care Sandra! I’ll be there soon!” “Damian! Tell me, Sandra is the woman you’re talking about before?” Anna was surprised Damian nodded and he started to talk. “Fai, I am sorry for not telling you this earlier. I don’t know that Olivia can go that far. Olivia and I know each other. Years ago before I returned to SF I worked in her company and we’re dating.”

It was unbelievable that Damian had just died like that. “Your messiah died in less than a week here. Couldn't last one fucking week!” he pressed on, angry at them for not trusting him. “Next time I tell you I'm capable of something, let me handle it. Okay?” he added before walking out. The two black scorpione men covered their heads in thought. They had gotten the news some minutes before Romano barged in and were still unable to process everything. Damian was supposed to be the messiah out of all these. Guess Romano was right after all. They were stuck with him.

Totally forgetting about the young bartender. “But you promised you’d stay quiet, Blakey.” Said Damian, whispering back, with his eyes closed. Totally pissed. “But I have demands too.” Said Blake, responding to Damian. Still whispering. “Do you, uh, still want the juice?” Asked the bartender from behind. Not whispering at all. “Yes!” “No!” Blake and Damian answered at the same time. The bartender looked confused, “We’re leaving,” said Damian, grabbing Blake by the waistline, and scooping him over to Damian’s right broad shoulder.

Then the double doors at the back of the briefing room slammed open. Every camera whipped around. He walked in. Damien. No cuffs. No prison jumpsuit. Just gray joggers, a plain black t-shirt, hair a mess like he’d been running his hands through it for hours. His eyes were dark, stormy..,equal parts fury and something rawer. Worry. Exhaustion. Jaxon and Gerald flanked him, plus three other men I didn’t recognize, and a woman trailing close behind. We all screamed his name at the same time, hugging each other in celebration.

A group of four friends who loved hanging out for an insane number of hours in the evenings to pop bear kept throwing arguments about the top one news in New Jersey. “Son of bitches. One just had to say yes to his every demand or get punched in the face. Damian never takes no for an answer, one just had to find a way to incorporate a yes in his/her responses to Damian’s demands or questions.

I turned to walk away, then he interrupted my steps, as he said, “was that a yes?” “What?” I asked. “If I stop hurting people, would you move in immediately?” He asked. Before I could talk, Ashley's voice echoed as she called, “Janelle! Janelle!” Damian was ready to move towards Ashley, but I moved closer to stop him. “Stop!” I said. He looked at my lips and smiled. “You have nice lips,” he said and turned. “I’ll be expecting a reply tonight,” he said. “Also Janelle…how well do you trust this couple?,” he said before walking away. Alex turned to me and said, “the car engine is back on, and still fully tracked,” he then bowed and followed Damian.

A knock interrupted us before I could sit with that thought any longer. Damian stood in the doorway, tie loosened, that same exhaustion carved into his face lately. His eyes moved from me to Sophia and back, something unreadable behind them. “I didn’t realize you had company,” he said. “Sophia Bennett. My best friend since college.” I gestured between them, watching Sophia’s eyes light up with obvious, unrepentant curiosity. “Sophia, my husband.” “The infamous Damian Blackwood.” Sophia stood, extending her hand with confident directness. Damian shook it without flinching. “I’ve heard a lot about you. None of it from Evelyn, she’s been suspiciously tight-lipped.”

Damon stood by the glass, suit jacket off, sleeves rolled up, looking dangerous and hungry. “Close the door,” he ordered. She did. “Damon, about last night—” He moved fast. In two strides he had her pinned against the cool glass, her back to the city. His big hand yanked her skirt up roughly around her waist. “Shut up,” he growled. “I’ve been hard all day thinking about this dripping cunt.” Before she could argue, he dropped to his knees right there in his expensive suit. His strong hands ripped her soaked panties down her legs and tossed them aside.
