They both were a force of nature, beautiful and deadly. Once more Dannie’s world shifted and she blinked several times to realize what she was looking at — the black book. Dannie felt heavy, sluggish. Thoughts came slowly if they came at all. She looked up and around herself, recognizing the familiar room. Dannie was in the infirmary. Was she still dreaming? Dannie looked back at the book and peeled the gray cloth back, revealing the black leather cover.

It seems the kid had learned some caution, at least. “Boss?” Danny’s voice was young, and uncertain. “You wanted to see me?” I turned slowly, letting him sweat for a moment. He was twenty, maybe twenty-one. Scrawny. And very nervous. This was the kid who’d let Rylan escape a week ago. “Come here,” I said. Danny approached like he was walking to the gallows. His hands were shaking. I let the silence stretch, watching him squirm. Then I smiled. “Good work.”

I bit my lip hard enough to taste blood. The door creaked, and Phantom strolled in with his trademark calm, though tonight he wasn’t wearing his pristine white suit. Instead, black clung to his frame, sharp as a blade. His smile was venomous. “Well, well,” Phantom drawled, circling Damon like a predator. “How the mighty have fallen. You’re not looking so sharp, Damon.” Damon lifted his head, spitting blood onto the floor. “Go to hell.” Phantom chuckled. “Oh, we’re already there.” His voice dropped, sharp with menace. “Where’s the flash drive?”

I NEED to know who he is, and something tells me I won’t discover much if I approach him as Phantom Reaper. I don’t really even know who I actually am, to be honest. CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX Casey's POV I stood awkwardly on the side, shifting in my feet as I watched them gather, ready to shift. They were all naked, waiting for one command. Danny, however, has already shifted by my side, not caring to wait unlike the others. His magnificent grey wolf lay proudly beside me, one huge paw crossed over the other. His eyes laser-focused on Carlos. I swear if looks could kill, he'd probably get burnt off with Danny's deadly glare.

He recognized that picture and even if he tried to ignore it, he just couldn't help but wonder. The news said it was suicide. Danny wanted to believe that considering the evidence presented. But, did Daniel really seem like he had planned to die that day as he massaged his body with sun lotion? Something doesn't sit right. But what? **~~**

I think it was only Raven who could take his brute strength. And, that was saying something considering Danny had gotten stronger in the last couple of years. At his tender age of 24, Danny was already very big, his tanned physique was very muscular. His blonde hair, that used to flop into his eyes, was now brushed back. He wore a white collared shirt and I could see his muscles bulging through it. Danny worked as a personal trainer and the job matched his passions completely.

He shuddered at the thought of the vampires, he had refused to believe that vampires still existed until he had seen Dracaryx and the others. The door to the room opened and Dracaryx walked in.
