Brenda rushed over and gave Danny a huge hug. “I was so worried for you. Here, I made you breakfast. Dingo said that you liked waffles.” She said in her motherly voice. Danny was just staring at Marcus. But then seemed to pull herself together. “I love waffles, they are my favorite.” She said as Brenda walked back to get the syrup warm for her. I stepped forward protectively, “Danny this is Marcus, he is the lead Alpha of the Counsel of Alphas. Marcus, this is Danny, my Mate.” I said clearly.

Kendra helped me stand and found some sweatpants and a shirt in a drawer helping me put them on and we made our way out of the room walking upstairs where we were face to face with Dash and Dane who seemed to be in a stance for battle. I clung to Kendra, and Dane’s eyes flicked over to me, growing wide as he took in my battered body. His eyes glowed red and his body tensed with anger as his gaze tore from me to his brother. “You will die today brother…” He growled, turning the floor beneath our feet into an earthquake. “And I will show you no mercy.”

Danny yelled, "Darrell you’ve got to stop watching romantic comedies.” Affronted, Darrell sat back. Jogging his chin at Danny as he demanded, “Well, what do you watch?!” Without missing a beat, Danny dryly answered, “The Blacklist.” Darrell shook his head. “Of course you do.” Danny shrugged, “James Spader is a fucking genius,” taking a drink.

Instead of heading to the Sawyer pack's center, the car was now heading toward the Gronya pack. When the door was pulled open, I immediately saw Danny standing in the night. He was clad in a long black trench coat, his silver-white hair ruffled by the night wind. His eyes were cold and distant, like a winter blizzard in the North. As the Alpha of the Gronya Pack, he was terrifyingly powerful. Seeing me, he smirked. "Welcome." I pushed down the turmoil of emotions rising in my chest and asked in a low voice, "You're not surprised to see me?"

He smirks as he disappears. “Oh, you will know how much of a real man he is soon enough.” Danny says as he walks away and grabs a woman who screams. I struggle against my restraints as Dane appears. He is huge, buzzed hair cut, with grey eyes. He is packed with muscles he is bulky. Every step he takes is with purpose. He is dangerous. But he is stupid. All that muscle and nothing in his head. “Angel Moretti. It is so nice to finally meet you. We are going to have so much fun together.” I snort on a laugh.

I bit my lip hard enough to taste blood. The door creaked, and Phantom strolled in with his trademark calm, though tonight he wasn’t wearing his pristine white suit. Instead, black clung to his frame, sharp as a blade. His smile was venomous. “Well, well,” Phantom drawled, circling Damon like a predator. “How the mighty have fallen. You’re not looking so sharp, Damon.” Damon lifted his head, spitting blood onto the floor. “Go to hell.” Phantom chuckled. “Oh, we’re already there.” His voice dropped, sharp with menace. “Where’s the flash drive?”

Xara glanced at James and seated herself. “A-Are you General Highsmith?” Xara’s eyes gleamed. Daniel looked at James. James laughed. “Xara, his name’s Danny. He’s not a general.” “H-He’s right.” Daniel quickly nodded in agreement. “Miss… Xara, was it? I’m not a general. My name’s Daniel… Sorry, Danny. I just resemble Daniel.” He stumbled over his words. Hearing this, Zara let loose a hearty laugh.

Danny was quiet for some time, deep in thought. “That fucking bastard.” He muttered the frustration clear on his face. “Tell me about it.” I mumbled too. “But don’t worry. I think I have a plan on how to save Xavier.” I said smiling at the idea. Danny frowned, his brows furrowing “You think you have a plan, or you know you have an actual plan that would work?” he asked making me grit my teeth. He knew how to be an asshole if he wanted to. “I do have a plan, but you’re going to have to trust me man. Do you think you can do that?”

Danny was now balancing on a tight rope, one wrong move and his ending would be inevitable. Danny drew his lower lip between his lip as he thought for a moment, before a look of sheer determination transformed his face. “If that’s what it takes,” he gave Nate a sharp nod, “then I will do it. Before me is my Queen, not Skylar. I want to prove my loyalty to you, Luna.” His eyes bored into mine, allowing me to observe the sincerity in them.
