Caroline pov Three days later Three days passed faster than I expected. Daphne and I had finished getting ready after a long time of preparing and trying out different clothes that were suitable for the event. Finally, we settled on one. Daphne settled for a cream colored suit, with a flowery design at the edge of the skirt. While I settled for a simple emerald gown with nothing fanciful on it. She held a black velvet cloak loosely around her waist, but the front was completely open, showing her chest, her ribs, and three dark red scratches where Victor’s nails had torn her skin. In her right hand, she held a long silver dagger. Thick blood dripped off the blade, falling into the puddle between her bare feet. She did not look scared. She did not scream or shake.

He approached Daphne’s creation, and she smiled sweetly. "So, guys, what do you think about this design?” Some people yelled “yes,” but the majority shouted “no.” I guess that meant Daphne was out. She glared at me with a dangerous look. To be honest, Daphne’s design was beautiful; it was a short party gown made from shimmering materials. However, the only reason she lost was that she didn’t finish her creation on time.

I couldn’t risk anything going wrong now, not with the pack recovering from the attacks. Harper helped me with my dress. It was a flowing sky-blue gown that brushed the floor, sleeveless with delicate beads along the front. The back was low, showing a bit of skin, but it was elegant. She adjusted it carefully around my shoulders, making sure it sat right, and I tried not to fidget too much. “Wow, you look stunning, Daphne,” Harper said, stepping back to admire her work. Her eyes sparkled with excitement. “Everyone will be staring at you. They won’t know what hit them.”

“That dress looks insane on you!” Daphne blushes, but I can tell that she’s pleased as she gives a tiny ironic curtsey. “Daphne Designs, of course,” she says, waving a hand down to gesture to the expanse of the sleeveless dress that hugs her every curve all the way down to the intricately pleated skirt, which flares out at her hips and spreads around her, all the way to the ground. It’s just a few shades darker red than her hair, which I never realized would look so good until I see it now in person.
