The Black Wolf
Xareth turned and began walking without a word, and I followed, limping after him in silence, my bare feet brushing against the cold stone floor.
We moved through long hallways. Then he opened a heavy black door, one I hadn’t noticed before.
It led outside where he opened another door, the staircase spiraled downward. My breath came in shallow gasps as we descended.
He led me into a large underground dungeon, a place reeking of suffering. Chains hung from the ceiling, some still slick with fresh blood.
Silver whips lined the walls. Hooks. Brands. Blades of every shape. The floor was dark with old stains, and the walls bore claw marks. I had never seen hell, but this… this was close enough.
