Unknowingly, my nerve cells started to respond to the circumstances. The two of them didn't seem to notice that there was someone else besides them as they were lost in their world. They appeared to be close friends and both of them were radiating in the room. One was blessed with light brown pastel coloured eyes which seemed as sweet as sugar and the other one was blessed with black coloured eyes which seemed as deep as the sea.

Blades of every shape. The floor was dark with old stains, and the walls bore claw marks. I had never seen hell, but this… this was close enough.

His hands and foot were tied to it with tape, and so was his mouth, so that his head bobbed about with tiredness and exhaustion. “By night, we are criminals. We sell guns. a voice shouted from the darkness to our left. I turned, expecting to see a police officer or a doctor. Instead, I saw a line of black sedans idling near the warehouse exit. These weren't the SUVs from before. These were clean, polished cars that looked like they belonged to a high-end funeral service. Men in dark raincoats were stepping out, their movements smooth and practiced. These were Silas’s "cleanup" crew: the men who made sure the world only saw what Silas wanted it to see.

Several elders looked relieved. The Priestess smiled proudly, clearly pleased with herself. But I said nothing, I simply stared toward the darkness. Because I knew something they didn't. Derek had fought witches before, witches far more terrifying than the young Priestess. I looked towards him, then my pulse quickened. He opened his eyes and it glowed bright red inside the darkness. “And this Black Sanctum coven or whatever? They’re even worse.” “Nah… surely they aren’t that bad.” Dublin shook his head, pulling up a list and a picture of what looked like two wolves devouring each other in an endless loop. “They’re into some bad shit. Apparently, Black Sanctum is heavily into some occult shit, like magic and voodoo and such. Wolfnapping, ritualistic killings, murder. This isn’t some back alley Arabian Prince we’d be swindling; these are people who could kill us and know how to do it as well.”
