He loomed over me like a shadow of death, his presence so vast it seemed to shrink the room. His eyes were no longer those of the man I knew; they were twin pits of glowing, molten obsidian, swirling with a darkness that swallowed the flickering candlelight. The desire radiating from him wasn't a gentle stream; it was a flood following a catastrophic dam break—violent, unstoppable, and destructive. He seized my wrists in a grip of iron and slammed them against the wall above my head. He didn't bother to retract his claws.
