“Now go. Talk to the dark. Find answers. Come home.” Kade and I joined hands. Reached for the seal. For the connection we still had. Distant. Weak. But present. We pulled on it. Opened a doorway. A crack in reality where we could slip through. Where we could enter the First Dark’s realm without becoming the seal again. The doorway opened. Dark. Cold. Empty. We stepped through. And fell into nothing. The First Dark’s realm was different from the Void realm. The Voids were hungry darkness. Consuming. Aggressive. Desperate.

“That man commands half the dark covens of the eastern front. If she’s joined forces with him…” “Then we’re not fighting a pack,” Axel finished grimly. “We’re facing a Dominion.” The courier nodded shakily. “They call themselves The Black Dominion. A legion of Hollow-born, dead wolves, and warlocks. They’re building fortresses in the Deadlands.” Raven’s chest constricted. The room spun slightly, but she steadied herself against the table. Malrik swore. “So that’s her play. She’s gathering the worst of both realms.”

I feel sick at that. “So it’s hell then?” I ask, and he shakes his head. “No, it’s worse. Hell, you can get to. Darkness, you can’t. They have shadow monsters. That occasionally enter other realms, they feed on the sleeping victims and inflict the most disturbing nightmares that feel so real the victim wakes covered in blood. They eventually go insane from lack of sleep. That is just one of the horrors of darkness.” I suck in a breath and declare I will never sleep again. Also, every light will be kept on. I am not being used for the shadows. I shudder at the thought.

Somewhere Deep in Another Realm Narrator’s Point of View The other realm was a place where shadows lived, and darkness thrived. The air was heavy, thick with an unnatural energy that prickled against the skin like static, raising the fine hairs on the back of the neck. The sky above was a swirling vortex of crimson and black, a chaotic dance of colors that seemed to pulse with a life of its own. There were no stars, no moon, only the faint, eerie glow of a fiery rift that split the heavens, casting a sickly, flickering light over the desolate landscape below.

Legends spoke of ancient invaders, creatures born of chaos, who once ravaged the sanctity of the celestial realm. A sprawling black realm loomed in the heart of the primordial abyss that was too far distant from Bleurealm's reach. Its skies were shrouded in perpetual darkness, while its earth was awash in a macabre hue of crimson. Grotesque fiends prowled in the shadowed jungles, and a pervasive rotting odour stretched across the area. It was the sort of realm that befitted the damned.

I'd love to make their life worse than hell.
