Chapter 2 – Crimson Eyes Rain lashed against Diana’s face as she stood frozen before the iron gates. The crimson eyes remained fixed on her from the darkness beyond the forest, unblinking and impossibly bright. They were not the golden eyes of a Northern wolf, nor the silver eyes of a moon-blessed pack. They burned like embers buried beneath ash. Something ancient. Something predatory. As if someone was watching. Another growl rumbled through the storm, deeper this time, vibrating through the ground beneath her feet.

I said. “Indeed, he did. Do you know why the Count’s eyes or, better said, our creator’s eyes are two different colors?” asked my monster. “No…” I said. “His eyes are one blue and one red. His blue eyes represent his mate, Serafim. They’re our shade of blue, but not sapphire rock. Serafim had these eyes, and we are here reincarnation, making us part of him as a reincarnated mate he once had. His other eye is the same red tone as our mate’s eyes. King Vladimir’s eyes are the only red blood tone in the Kingdoms.

I saw him lighting another candle. I took a deep sigh. “Are you-” “Is the scent not that nice?” He cut me off. “Better if you’ll stop lighting another one doc, we're not summoning some devils to have our ritual with that bunch of candles.” I crossed my legs comfortably before presenting the innocent eyes and seducing lips. I’m obtainable seductive and siren inside out, I want to finish this man right here, right now. When would they give me a signal to kill him now? I’m running out of patience, tsk. Doc. Jairo Black, what did you do to make them think you were an enemy?

He held a vicious glint and blood lust while hers, terror. Green against the grey. And just like that his eyes held hers and stared into her green eyes. He goes blank as he looked at the teen in his arm. Her teary eyes looked into his as if she had accepted her fate. His grey eyes widened slightly, clearly mesmerized by the beauty of her green orbs. His eyes make a quick assessment of her face. Tiny freckles scattered all over her nose and by its sides. Those small brown dots on her face looked clear as fresh tears kept constantly rolling down her face. Her cheeks flushed and red. She had a small pointy nose.

he grabbed me and I yelped as a piercing shot of pain ran through my arm. Looking into his eyes, they looked different. They were no longer Egyptian blue, they were a whitish blue now, it was so beautiful and unique, it looked almost like it was glowing. However, at the same time, I could see the anger in them, so much of anger that he could kill someone in that rage. A tear streamed down my cheek from my left eye and shortly one from my right eye followed, I saw his eyes soften up when he realized what he has done and they turned back into Egyptian blue…however, it was too late now, my body could no longer handle the antagonizing pain that I was experiencing and so the darkness took over…

Now in a solid form I see it for what it is, “Obsidian.” Scarlett’s voice shakes as she speaks but she doesn’t stop. “Someone… put that thing in him and hell, why do people do things like this? He’s been suffering in silence for so long.” Danis plucks the sapphire from its floating position mid-air and he winces immediately. His lips form another spell but I stop him. “Don’t.” He cocks an eyebrow up in defiance but my command is clear enough. When he frowns even further I glare at him.

I turned back to look toward the spot where I had left her, but the hallway was a swirl of dust and debris. “I’m sure she’s fine with him, my lord,” Crimson said haughtily. “But at least I would be able to set eyes on her” I responded, my mind clouded with strange possibilities. But only then, I noticed something else. Sapphire was gone, and where she had stood, only a single, glowing purple eye, vast, lidless, and weeping black fluid, was embedded into the stone wall, staring directly at me.

I demanded, my voice dropping into that ragged, double-toned scrap of my sovereign authority as I forced myself to stand, my knees trembling but locking in place. The commander raised a gloved hand, slowly unlocking the clasps of his silver visor. As he pulled the metal away, my heart stopped. He didn't have the golden eyes of our pack, or the pale blue eyes of the northern outcasts. His eyes were entirely pitch-black, the sclera and pupils fused into a solid, liquid void—the exact same terrifying, bottomless black that Killian’s eyes became when his feral wolf took complete control.

Standing still, I’m mesmerized by the incredible ring, not because of its size although it has to be a few carats but because of the sapphires surrounding it, their blue hue cast into the diamond in the center when the light hits it, making them glow the same icy blue shade as his eyes. He swallows, and his eyes soften, letting me see how much this truly means to him despite all his usual bluster. I have no doubt that he’ll attempt to play this off as part of the deal, but both him and I know the truth, and I can’t wait to unlock more secrets behind what makes the rugged, savage, and sexy alpha tick.

She glanced at the piece and was immediately captivated. It was a sapphire set featuring a necklace and a pair of earrings. Under the lights, the sapphires sparkled with a mesmerizing glow, reminiscent of the deep, tranquil waters of a lake. Each glint of light on them created the illusion of ripples across the lake's surface—dazzling and enchanting.
