The scandal rippled through the heavens until, as she had hoped, it reached the throne of Zeus, King of the Gods.
In the hallowed halls of Olympus, Zeus looked down from his throne at the weeping, prostrate Cassandra, then to the dark, thunderous expression on Apollo's face.
"Apollo," Zeus's voice rumbled, "the laws of the divine cannot be defied. A sacred bloodline must not be cast aside or born in shame. You will marry her. You will give this child a name and a legitimate place."
Hearing this, a look of ecstatic triumph flashed in Cassandra’s eyes.
