As he slid the notebook out of the drawer, a small sized photographic print fell out to the floor from in between the notebook. Before he could reach for it, Jared had picked it up. "Is this you and your mother?". Jared asked peering at the photographic print he held in his hand. "Yep". Jamie replied and snatched it from his hands. He flipped some pages of the notebook and buried the pictures in between them before flipping the pages backwards. "Specific dates are fixed for the camp with different activities to be carried out on each of the nights. We have Sunday, Tuesday and Friday for the camp".

Students from the underground arena, The Chairman, Vale, The mysterious man from the photograph, Even jealous classmates…. Every single one had a reason, yet none of them felt completely right. He ran both hands through his hair. "Damn it..." "There are too many enemies.” ******* He returned to campus immediately, the cafeteria was almost empty.. The attendant looked up, "Can I help you?" "I'm looking into what happened earlier." "The attack." The woman's face turned pale. "It was terrible." Kaizen looked around. "There are CCTV cameras here." She nodded. "Yes." "Can I see the footage?”

We would all, guys and girls alike, wear the uniform of the camp, orange athletic shorts and white t-shirts with the camp's name emblazoned across the front, every day for the rest of the summer. The camp director, Carol Moscone, was sitting at a table under a portable pavilion tent, checking in each van load of counselors as we arrived. As we straggled toward the tent, she bounced to her feet and excitedly came to greet us. Carol hugged those of us who were returning staff, and enthusiastically shook the hand of Cindy, a cuteish redhead who was the only newbie in our van.

As an older cousin, I can’t help to worry so I ask, “Does Auntie knows about this? She allowed you and David?” “Yes, noona. Mom allowed us both.” He said. “Okay. I hope you will enjoy the training camp. When will it start?” I ask him again. “Next Monday, noona. So we won’t be able to work part time here starting Monday next week.” Jun politely answers me again. “I see. Be careful on the camp, Jun. Tell the other boys too.” I said with a smile. “We will, noona. Thank you. I better go now, I can hear David’s whining voice calling me.” Jun said and left.

Suddenly, someone standing behind him yanked his headphones off. "Hey, who is it!" David turned his head grumpily and saw Hamya standing behind him, holding his headphones and smiling at him. He glared at him, "What are you doing? Give me back my headphones!" "Nope!" Hamya took his headphones and sat down on a chair nearby. Looking at David's angry glare, he laughed mockingly, "David, you're here to be a tutor at the training camp, not to laze around. Look at yourself, what have you been doing these past days?"

That hit harder than I wanted to admit. He glanced at me, gauging my reaction, but I only nodded for him to continue. “It started making sense the summer I was sent to leadership camp. I was fourteen,” he said, eyes softening at the memory. “That’s when I met David.” I tilted my head, watching his face transform as he talked. Like he was lifting a photo album buried deep inside him. “Spending time with him was the best part of every day. Everyone thought we were just tight friends, maybe even like brothers. But we knew. We knew it was more than that.”

Weighted with questions neither of us wanted to crack open in the middle of the forest. By the time we stepped into camp, the air was thick with woodsmoke and the scent of roasting meat. The others were gathered near the main fire pit, their breath rising in white clouds against the night. David, ever watchful, was the first to notice us. He stood from his crouch near the flames, the firelight catching on the scar across his jaw. “You went to the ruins.” He said flatly. Not a question. I handed him my weapons one by one. “Any trouble while we were gone?”

I say, keeping my face as serious as possible. All four males look at each other, but they don’t give much away. The one is definitely older, maybe even 22 or so. Dex told me last night he’s just turned 19, and well I’ll be 17 next month. If I live to see it. I have no doubt that in addition to being the only female at camp, I’m the youngest. “That’s treason talk, female,” one of them says.

He pointed at them and said, "They were killed by us." Jessica nodded, acknowledging the brutal training. "How long have you been here?" "Three months." "Are you an orphan?" David shook his head. "I'm not an orphan. I was kidnapped by them. I miss my parents a lot." Jessica grimaced. Feeling a bit tired from standing, she sat down on a rock. David couldn't help but ask, "Are you sick, Miss?" "Yeah, feeling a bit under the weather," Jessica replied. "Is there no way to leave here?"

“I don’t know—I’ve been all over the place. This whole Rock Camp situation-“ he begins to explain before Thomas puts a reassuring hand on his shoulder. “Hey man, you’re gonna be okay! You’re the fricking kid lawyer! And besides, it’s not like anyone blames you for Dave hooking up with Remi Movato’s boyfriend. Rock Camp, as we know it, is a dead franchise. This case definitely doesn’t help things either.” “He did what now? Also, I didn’t know Kevin plays for the other team too, good for him!
