Davy attempted to disperse it just as Chase had, but something unexpected happened—the beam did not dissolve. Instead, it pierced forward, hitting him squarely in the chest. Davy grunted, swallowing the blood that threatened to rise to his mouth. His domain flickered as he took three steps back to steady himself. They showed no mercy to the Bakers. So, each person picked their target and fought with all their might. The situation grew more and more chaotic until, by the end, it was clear that my family had the upper hand and was pummeling the Bakers mercilessly. I fought back; he was more badly hurt than me.” He was proud of himself for fighting back and acquiring such a mark was not something to be ashamed of.
