Each was suitably manned and armed to fend off possible attacks from pirates or privateers.

Nicolas replied immediately, wrapping his one hand around Daisy’s waist. They already started walking slowly. The weather was a little cloudy that day though the beach was not empty. The opera of the sea washed over them and the wave-music was welcome. It was soothing and Daisy was looking glad to get away from the hurly-burly and stresses of life. It was half-moon shaped and there were no heaving waves to be seen, merely wave grooves in the sand.

As for the Dutchman Squad, they were looking at Kirou with fire in their eyes. If looks could kill, it was possible that Kirou would have already been reduced to ash after being chopped to pieces slowly over a long period of time.
