What if I lose my ring? All these silly what-ifs racing through my mind about the future, about my future as a Mrs. I know George promised today was going to be the best day ever, but what about tomorrow and the next day and the day after that. I was so thankful to have my father there in that moment. He hadn't been part of the planning much. He had helped pick up items for me and run errands if I needed them. But he was my silent supporter throughout the last four months, the last twenty-two years. "I love you too, Daddy." I finally said, and with a deep breath, I released him.

Chipped mug, grass stains, all of it. Nathan: _Day 8. Nathan’s shoulder is here if you need it tomorrow. No rush. Bench time is slow time. ‘After’ time is slow time._ Destiny: _Day 8. Strong wrote one word today. After. Because that’s all we need for now. One word. One bench. One breath at a time._ Elma typed last: _Day 8. Elma fell. Elma got up. Elma is after. Elma is enough._

Goodbyes are never easy, especially today being one of those days that I have to. Time got in the way again and has invaded into our bubble. I wish time didn't move too fast but here we are. I woke up this morning to the thought of what today means. That alone dampened my mood. I should be used to this. The goodbye. With situations changed, this road is where we will need to get used to. Overall distance might become a norm, until things settle and we figure out our next move for the future.

Acting relaxed, Koben asked, “Your ex is quite the romantic. What’s your take?” Tabitha, not feeling a stir of emotion, answered indifferently, “I have no thoughts on it, but I’m planning to head back home. The time away has cleared my head. I can’t keep running away from reality. “I have a lot to look forward to in my next chapter.” Koben nodded in agreement. “Alright. I’m going back with you.” Tabitha looked at Koben in surprise. “I thought you didn’t have plans to go back any time soon.”

In the future, I'll definitely adjust some shit but for now this is the most I can do. The back and forth, the gifts, the money, the daily calls... This is the same shit I've been running from. Rhys Another day, another damn meeting. It felt like I was always stuck in these endless sessions, listening to the council bicker over things that barely mattered to me. Today, though, something was ringing at the back of my mind. I’d just realized that three months had slipped by, and Dawn’s and my contract as a couple was officially over.

A whole day had already passed. The light of my life was fading.

Friday was in three days, I was going to meet Min Jun for the third time, I was scared and nervous. I know I have met him twice but this time it is different, we are going on a date. I do not have to impress him, it's not a normal date, it is a business date, I shouldn't be so nervous. You have to impress your client in a business date, right? My thoughts were throwing me into a state of panic. I groaned and went to my bed. Sleeping was my only escape from my thoughts and I just had to take the easy way out.

"I need days. Weeks. Forever." "Then make these hours count."

His pleas were silenced forever—left to vanish in the distance. Turning to my driver, I said, "Take me to the orphanage. Did you buy Jeannie’s birthday cake?" The car sped forward, the passing scenery blurring into long, straight lines. I rolled down the window, letting the warm breeze kiss my face. Everything was moving forward toward the light.
