My panic started to rise, when Nana's voice calmed me, Do not overthink. Go one step at the time. Be brave for one second. These three lines always help, like my mind just ignores the panic. I am brave. With that I was on my way to school. Getting out of my car, I was greeted by Anna and her fellowship. This is just what I needed to help with my anxiety. It seems that nothing can stop the time from moving and we need to go with it. Suddenly, here’s a call from an unknown number.

She whispered, twirling her fork idly on her plate, no heat in her voice. I hummed. It was difficult to do that around her. Behave. Neither of us was ready to give in, toying around and waiting for the other to snap. It felt like I finally met my match. "We leave in three days. Where did the days go?" I froze at that. Huh. The days slipped past us so quickly that in three days my cousin was getting married. It meant Aria would be leaving as well.

“That is the whole measure now. No bells. No lists. Just how far the sun has moved and how far our feet have gone.” “Feels honest. Day cannot lie when you count it that way.” “What does a full day look like counted only in light and steps?” “Longer. Wider. Ends slower. Starts without anyone else’s permission.” They ate without hurry. Water passed between them. The stream made a thin sound over the rocks. Ezra said, “I used to count days by what got finished. Now I count them by what never needed starting.” “Same. Finished used to mean someone else was satisfied. Today finished only means we are still walking.”

Waiting. --- Downstairs, a car passed. A door slammed somewhere in the distance. Life moving forward whether they were ready or not.

"Anything interesting in the news today?" I switched off the television and leaned back into him. "Nothing important," I said. "Just things that don't matter." The holidays were approaching. Inside, the house was warm, filled with the comforting smell of food. Outside, snow fell quietly, and the evergreens in the yard stood tall against the cold wind. It felt like the coming year would be a good one.

Tyson smirked. “31 Days.” Chance affirmed. “Which Day was today”? He asked. “Ninth.” Dr. Tyson added. “Twenty two days to go, man I am gonna savor these.” with a devilish smirk, Chance declared.
