Slanders thrived on ambiguity and speculation. But me? I had pure frickin' evidence. That was why Edward complained about my fixation on details. He was panicking. He knew he wasn't winning this. And whenever Edward asked for her opinion on a matter, she either declined to speak or agreed with the alpha king. She was smart. He would give her that, once or twice, he had walked past the garden and found her reading a book. Eddie collected it and drank all but spit some out. "It's awful, why give it to me," Eddie said with an angry expression. "Because it will make you feel better like I said earlier, " Gabriel said and moved back to where he was sitting, picked up the book he was reading and started reading again. "Fall of the heroes " Eddie mumbled, looking at the title of the booking. "Yeah, you like it? " Gabriel asked him. "Don't love reading this kind of book," Eddie replied. "So, you stay only? " Eddie asked him.

"It really is a small world, and these books were also chosen by you," Richard said, remembering that the books Jack was carrying were chosen by the president of the company himself. " All I did was just take a few titles from his bookshelf. " Edward answered with a shrug, but he was really curious to know who the books were for.

“Workaholics. Cold. Ruthless with a morality that bothered on grey. Someone who has everything and nothing to offer in a normal relationship.” James gave a dry chuckle. “Jezz that sucks! Sounds like a sad dating profile.” Edward chuckled, folding his arms across his chest. “But you know it's not entirely true, Ed. You have a lot to offer. Like the love you feel for Sarah.” Edward did not reply for a while as his eyes suddenly developed a strange light.

But curiosity was a sharp, quiet thing. One article about Edward’s father had included a photo from their registry office. Her name spelled correctly. Her nationality highlighted. The comments were what hurt. “Convenient timing.” “Gold-digger.” “Immigration play.” “Of course he marries foreign when scandal hits.” Her stomach tightened. She closed the laptop too quickly. Edward looked up from across the room. “What did you read?” “Nothing.” He stood. Walked toward her. Held out his hand. She hesitated.

I felt Adele come down beside me. "Are you excited to be back at college?" She asks me. "Sure," I shrug. "That's convincing," she says with a laugh. "Anyway, I believe Edward is talking to someone." My ears perked up at this; Edward was known as a man whore, though most girls knew that once they got involved, they weren't coming back, and my brother was the same way. "That's a first." I grin. She smiles as she hums and glances at the ceiling.

After all, the man had been nothing but nice to her, at least nicer than her actual relatives. Edward’s eccentric personality had something to do with his experiences. Regardless of whether he was good at sex or not, he didn't deserve to be discussed so coarsely by these reporters. “Cheat on him? Is anyone who is more promising than Edward present in the Hertone City?” Ellena smiled. Her eyes curved into a crescent shape, and her tone became much lighter. “And we’re good in bed. If you don’t believe me, you can ask my husband, Edward.”
