She closed her eyes and then she whispered to herself, "Sometimes, it's best to be selfish and love yourself first, Emma. That way, you wouldn't beg for anyone's love." She repeated it a few more times like a mantra, before she slowly opened her eyes and turned back to her files, her face a little harder than before, her spine a little straighter.

I'm the eldest one in the sibling's trio which means more responsibility and then my little 2 munchkins; one a tomboy and other boy. Ruby's pov I've never felt so many emotions all at once in my life – sadness, mirth, rage, pure, seething rage! Rage churned in my stomach like a cyclone. I was barely holding it in together. I could barely believe what just happened. Nathan just walked past mom, past us like we didn't even exist!
