The text was from Xavier. Jaylene paused for a while. 'What result?' She thought to herself. Trevor only came back with Keegan about ten minutes later. He was not looking very happy as he started scolding Keegan as soon as he sat down, "Keegan Kane, you're so useless. It's been over ten years, yet you still can't drink!" He reached for his phone and unlocked it. He paused for a moment after looking at that text message. Then, he dialed Aldor's number.

He paused, unable to go on as Donovan shook his head, his patience wearing thin. Donovan reached into his desk drawer and retrieved a gleaming knife, its blade catching the light ominously. His actions froze the trembling Kyle. "You failed me," Dovan said softly, almost a whisper. "And there are consequences for failure." The guard's eyes widened in terror as two of Donovan's men held him down, pinning his hand to the desk. "Please, no," he pleaded, his voice cracking. "I'll tell you everything." Donovan brought the sharp edge of the knife on his smallest finger. It was so sharp it drew a small cut. Kyle screamed and struggled to stay still, trying to avoid getting more cut. He began to cry.

Adele obviously hadn't noticed her reluctance concerning the subject. “Declan seems to be a pro at arranging things like that… Let me tell you, girl… Your Declan is dreamy!” Adele said and became starry-eyed. 'I never would have thought him capable of being that human. He always appeared haughty and slightly removed from the rest of us, poor mortals.”

Like all those years I relentlessly thought of him meant nothing. Above all, was Declan's stature and frame. My goodness, just seeing Declan shirtless could make any woman's system go haywire. He was not exceptionally muscular with just about 8 pack abs or 16cm biceps. Perhaps it was just the way he carried himself, his charisma, his whole attitude has always been attractive to me. Like him or hate him, Declan Denning was a very charming man.

In other words, Declan owned several small islands. Declan was also a really nice guy, the kind of guy you could take home to meet your parents. He was good-looking. Not in a how-good-do-I-look kind of way, but more in the boy-next-door kind of way. His hair was brown - not dark blonde, not brunette, just a nice…brown. His eyes were hazel and not set too far apart, his nose was, well, normal and his lips were not too thin. Individually his features were rather average but they were arranged in such a way as to be very appealing. He wasn’t the type of guy you would regret waking up next to in the morning.

Trajan was angry, anger in his voice as he said, "We lost. We lost to Caleb's son, Alexander!" Trajan could not comprehend that he had lost to the northern Kane family. "The Kane family… Caleb…" On the other side of the phone, in an ancient Eunoran-style castle on a man-made island off the coast of the Black Hawk Nation, Youcef was dressed in a suit, holding an antique telephone, the wrinkles on his face unusually deep. "Are you sure it's him?"

Aren shot back. “You both could have surprised me… with your constant bickering, I was beginning to think there was more to it,” Declan remarked making both Kayden and Aren stare at him in shock. “I love Layana remember?” Kayden said displeased. “Yes, and I need boobs and a sweet moist core to enjoy!” Aren retorted. Declan simply smirked “Whatever you both say, I still think you two would go perfectly,” he said walking back up the steps. “Hey hey Declan you cannot insult me like that!” Aren complained.

Maybe they’re cutting through after patrol. I don’t like Lochlan, but I hate Eamon. Once, when I was younger and staying with the Campbells, they had him over for dinner. He was a big deal then. Declan Kelly’s beta. He leered at me all night, and then he said to Dan Campbell, “It’s a pity about her legs, but I guess they’ll spread just fine.” Eileen hustled me off to the kitchen to help her with the dishes.
