Declan looked every bit the overprotective knight, his arms crossed, jaw set. Draven exhaled heavily, already exasperated. “I’m not dating anyone, and you can ask Hélène that yourself,” he said, sliding one hand casually into his pocket. “And come on, there’s no harm in looking. But I shake the ideas out of my head before I have a chance to overthink it. Taking a deep breath I knock on the black door. Seconds later the door swings open and a very shirtless looking Declan comes into view. With his shirt off, you can see his tan six-pack and those two faded scars. Grey Nike sweatpants hang low on his hips and his bony feet are bare of socks. Gulping, I tear my eyes away from his beautiful figure, a burning blush encasing my cheeks. His green eyes connect with my own, a grin taking over his gorgeous features. Butterflies flip and flop in my stomach.

Alpha Kendrik started. “It is a very joyous occasion for our family and for the pack as well since our son will now be able to find our future Luna. I would now like to welcome the birthday boy, Callan Baraed on stage” Callan ascended the steps leading up to the stage. Everybody clapped and warmly welcomed their future alpha. Callan looked hot! He was wearing a black pant-suite with a black dress shirt underneath. It made his black eyes and black hair pop more. My wolf howled with joy in my head, I took a huge breath in and could smell Callan, even from such a great distance.

But before I could say anything else, Declan himself stepped forward, his expression unreadable as he addressed my father. “With all due respect, sir, I believe Kendall and I have a connection that cannot be denied. I would be pleased to have her as my mate.” He said, stopping me from fighting with father, his voice calm but firm. My heart soared at his words, relief flooding through me like a wave. But as I looked into his eyes, searching for reassurance, I found only cold indifference staring back at me. “And as for you, Kendall. You shouldn’t fight with your father. You have to be respectful.” He said, barely looking at me.

"You look like you've seen a ghost." Kylian's expression darkened. "This is no time for games, Dania," he said, rubbing his chest in agitation. "Do you know where Eden is or not?" Dania's smile faded slightly at the urgency in Kylian's voice. She took a step closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. “What do you want me to do about it? He said he’s leaving tonight.” “No, apparently he wants to stay now. She says, examining her knuckles. “Let's go in and ice your hand,” I say, helping Oakleigh. “So, when is Declan coming back? I saw him with Cadee, and he is clearly smitten.” Oakleigh changes the subject from herself. “He left to handle things back in Ohio and plans to return in about a month. Watching him with Stacy is the cutest. And seeing that tattooed biker looking roughen reading bedtime stories is Ovary clenching. And no, I don’t have the hots for Declan, but watching him would make any woman want to make babies just to watch him interact with them.” I explain. I am so excited for both of my friends.
