Dean said as he watched the youths in his pack dancing with glee. "This is a nightmare, I'm going to my room." Kyle said. " No man, you can't leave me here with these lunatic alphas." Dean said and pulled Kyle back. " You're the one who invited them though." " Yeah but -" " Dad, quick question - hi Grandpa Kyle." Dean's first son Declan said as he folded his arms and stared at his father intently. He looked exactly like Dean, the only difference was that he carried his mother's blond hair much to his (Declan's) displeasure.

“But Xavier is making everything hard.” “I’ve already set someone up to find out every detail about her. Soon, I’ll show Xavier who she really is and I’ll make her experience hell on earth,” Declan gritted through his teeth. “I don’t care what you do,” the man said as he picked up his gun from the table and stood up, ready to leave. “But you can’t afford to lose Xavier.” “Where are you going, Canyon?” Declan asked. Canyon replied with a wink. “I’ve got my mistress waiting for me.”

Declan looked every bit the overprotective knight, his arms crossed, jaw set. Draven exhaled heavily, already exasperated. “I’m not dating anyone, and you can ask Hélène that yourself,” he said, sliding one hand casually into his pocket. “And come on, there’s no harm in looking. It’s not like I’m about to drag that nurse into an on-call room and have wild sex with her.” The dramatic eye roll that followed was purely for Declan’s benefit. “Besides, she’s pretty, but her arse is a little on the—”

Alpha Kendrik started. “It is a very joyous occasion for our family and for the pack as well since our son will now be able to find our future Luna. I would now like to welcome the birthday boy, Callan Baraed on stage” Callan ascended the steps leading up to the stage. Everybody clapped and warmly welcomed their future alpha. Callan looked hot! He was wearing a black pant-suite with a black dress shirt underneath. It made his black eyes and black hair pop more. My wolf howled with joy in my head, I took a huge breath in and could smell Callan, even from such a great distance.

But before I could say anything else, Declan himself stepped forward, his expression unreadable as he addressed my father. “With all due respect, sir, I believe Kendall and I have a connection that cannot be denied. I would be pleased to have her as my mate.” He said, stopping me from fighting with father, his voice calm but firm. My heart soared at his words, relief flooding through me like a wave. But as I looked into his eyes, searching for reassurance, I found only cold indifference staring back at me. “And as for you, Kendall. You shouldn’t fight with your father. You have to be respectful.” He said, barely looking at me.

"You look like you've seen a ghost." Kylian's expression darkened. "This is no time for games, Dania," he said, rubbing his chest in agitation. "Do you know where Eden is or not?" Dania's smile faded slightly at the urgency in Kylian's voice. She took a step closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Kylian, forget about Eden for a minute," she said, her voice low and sultry. "You're always so focused on her. Why don't you focus on me for a change?"

“Did you not hear me?” “I heard, but you seem to have forgotten that I’ve been hunted my entire life. This wouldn’t be anything new,” I stated firmly. “Furthermore, I would appreciate it if you stopped following me. If you’d like to be friends, that’s fine, but not as my guard or whatever this arrangement is supposed to be.” Then, I added, “Also, please make sure to inform Dane that if he wants to stalk me, he should do it himself.” Kendra stood up from her chair, unsure of what to say. It seemed she was in a state of shock as she asked, “Did you know that Dash was helping Kade?”

“What do you want me to do about it? He said he’s leaving tonight.” “No, apparently he wants to stay now. He thinks it would be better if Aster completes her…adjustment here.” “Better run out and get some more humans then,” Declan said. “There’s no way he’s going to listen to me.” “Tell him Aster needs some fresh air or something.” Declan stared at his brother like he was a moron. “We live in the country, you idiot. Don’t you have your own donors?” “Only Katelynn for now, and if I don’t transform her in a few days’ time, she’ll be a dead donor.”

"Fair. How much does she know about you?" "She knows my name," Declan replied promptly. Nyxen blinked and waited for more. Declan grinned. "She knows how tall I am. She knows I'm a good chef. She knows I work for the mafia. She knows my mom and my sister passed. She knows about my father and brother and my brother's wife. She knows Hugo is blind. She knows Pelouche. About as much as I know about him." Nyxen lifted an eyebrow. "When did you tell her you work for the mafia?"

“There’s a way to handle business without making it a constant war. But he doesn’t listen. Never has. Always thinks he knows best.” I nod like I understand, even though I already know Declan’s reputation. He doesn’t just play aggressive, he plays reckless.
