Her tone was gentle, but the way she looked at me was arrogant. There was no way I would have invited her to come. Luther reached over to help load her luggage onto the train, but the conductor stopped him with an apologetic expression. "Sir, there's only one first-class seat remaining." The Moonlight Express offered full-service immersive scenic touring, and it was exactly the honeymoon experience I had always wanted. It was peak season at Vespera Coast right now, so the standard seats had sold out early, while first-class seats cost five times as much.

“I think even Elliott no longer believes it—and he’s only ten.” Elliot Calloway growled again. He was in the same class as I was. Calm, reserved, and kind, but he always followed his cousin, Drake, along. This place fits me well.” They all talked for a while but now it was getting dark the moon was coming out. “We should probably go inside.” Greg said. “I think the supper’s also ready.” Stephen told. Dara kept on looking at the moon. It seemed as the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. Ellen shook Dara, “Come on honey it’s getting dark and cold.” Dara went inside with her family but she wished to stare at that beautiful thing for a little longer.

But as he adjusted his Tuner’s optical sensors, he saw it: a tiny, pinprick of green light—the exact, sickly green of Malakor’s old "Plan B" sickness—flickering on the lunar surface. "Someone is still playing the game, Jace," Kael whispered.

**KELLY THOMPSON'S POV** The moon's corpse hung low, a bloated specter leaching color from the sky. Its craters pulsed like open wounds, and the sea beneath it had gone still, a black mirror reflecting its rot. The *Kinslayer* cut through the water, its heartstone hull groaning as if mourning the world it sailed toward. Selene's wolves clustered at the bow, their star-metal blades glinting like shards of dead constellations. Rhydian stood apart, his serpents restless beneath his skin, their scales shimmering with a light that matched the moon's sickly glow.

Kael's POV The third night is different. Moonlight comes through the breaks in the stone like it has a purpose. It pools on the altar, catches the silver lines traced across the ruins floor, turns everything pale and luminous and strange. The kind of light that makes it hard to pretend you don't see things clearly.

The water, fire, and lightning in the big net were immediately pushed back and collapsed. The entire net shook violently and exploded. A streak of flowing light danced and reflected on the surrounding crystal walls. The light flashed rapidly and the silver flowers on the fire trees were blinding. "Huh?" Mo Buyu's expression changed as he shouted, "The Ninth Heaven of the Milky Way!" As soon as he finished speaking, he grabbed it. In an instant, a river of stars appeared in his palm. Infinite starlight shone from it. Caspian seemed to sink into the depths of the Milky Way at once, surrounded by uneven planets.
