Delilah's POV My eyes ran over the peach shaded walls, and the huge white curtains covered most of the room. Under the dim light, it was not much visible to see the inside of the place. When I had woke up, I found myself in this unfamiliar place. Panic settled in but when I tried to move put of here, pain shot through my feet. I looked down and the early cut of the feet has opened. It didn’t cure totally when I decided to remove the bandage, it couldn’t be used anymore.

He drew his gun slowly. Delilah’s grin didn’t fade. She spread her arms wide, mockingly. “Go on then, child. Prove you’re not weak. Prove you’re not me.” Kane’s eyes hardened. “I’m nothing like you,” he said. And then the shot echoed through the ruined hall. Delilah staggered, surprise flickering across her features before her body hit the marble floor. Her blood spread in a dark halo around her, mingling with the ashes of the fire.

“Because, my friend, I want to keep you informed. You know me being a good friend and all.” I stop in my tracks and look at her. ‘why does she think this is even useful information?’ I shook my head and started walking again. Back at her luxurious hotel suite, Delilah sipped champagne, confident and smug. She stood before the mirror, admiring the crimson dress she’d chosen symbolic, dramatic, unforgettable. “She’ll crumble,” she muttered to herself. “They both will.” Just as she lifted her glass again, her tablet buzzed. A single message blinked on the screen. "Nice try. See you in court. H.F." She froze. Another notification appeared this time a link. She clicked.

I didn’t know which of them was my real fated mate. Suddenly, the door slammed open. Cassandra stood there with two of her wolves behind her. Her eyes were full of hate. “I knew you were hiding a secret,” she snarled, hissing repeatedly. “You and your evil secrets.” Scarlett stepped in front of me, frowning at Cassandra. “Leave my daughter alone, you devilish woman!” Cassandra laughed and flew fast toward my mom, her claws hitting straight on my mother’s arm. “I want to make sure she dies. She is the devil here!”

That was something even crueler to her. The servants moved aside and Delilah's eyes flickered over to Nathaniel. Utter silence surrounded them until he broke the thinness by saying, “Delilah. . .” “Why did you do that, Nate?” she whispered, tears rolling down her red eyes. Her head spun at the odor of blood. He said not a word and raised his bloodied palm to cup her cheek when he saw her eyelids go heavy and her body lost its balance. Before she could fall out of unconsciousness, his arms received her body.

Reaching in my coat for my gun I gasped when I felt a sharp object poking into my skin. The bottle loosened from my grasp as it hit the floor and shattered into a million pieces. My eyelids become heavy as my breathing becomes slow.
