Her eyes were full of hate. “I knew you were hiding a secret,” she snarled, hissing repeatedly. “You and your evil secrets.” Scarlett stepped in front of me, frowning at Cassandra. “Leave my daughter alone, you devilish woman!” Cassandra laughed and flew fast toward my mom, her claws hitting straight on my mother’s arm. “I want to make sure she dies. I gritted my teeth, refusing to cry out in pain.

Her eyes glowed violet, deep and commanding, carrying the wisdom of lifetimes though her face looked barely older than Kimberly’s. She wore a cloak embroidered with coven sigils, and in her hand was a staff crowned with a crystal that pulsed faintly, alive with power. Gasps echoed as she stepped into the courtyard. Wolves of the pack lowered their heads instinctively, not in submission but in recognition of strength.

Delilah said as she moved in front of me and held out a strange looking dagger. Remembering what Archer told me, I took the dagger and then moved to stand directly in front of him.
