WELLINGTON'S POV
When my eyes slowly flutter open, the first thing I see is Dahlia.
She’s sitting beside the couch where I’m lying, her head bent awkwardly to one side, supported by both hands folded beneath her chin as exhaustion drags her into a restless sleep. Her hair spills over her shoulder, partly hiding her face, but I still see the faint redness around her swollen eyes.
She’s been crying again.
The sight twists my chest.
For a long moment, I just watch her quietly, not daring to move or touch her because I know she sleeps lightly, just like me. Any slightest movement, she’ll wake up, probably pretending she wasn’t exhausted enough to collapse beside the same man she claims she doesn
