Worth Every Million
I stand in the center of the east-facing studio with a dry rag wrapped around my hand, staring at five large finished canvases resting against the white wall.
The turpentine smell in the room is soft now, mixed with the warm scent of beeswax and linseed oil. The morning light coming through the tall glass windows hits the thick layers of dried paint, highlighting the rough ridges made by my palette knife. There are no ledgers here. There are no corporate balances, no municipal tax codes, and no signatures forged under false pretenses.
It is just light, texture, and silence.
