With a gentle hand, she begins to caress my brow. "Shhhhh," She soothes me. "Help is coming. Just hold onto me." I try to squeeze her hand back, but I have no strength. Her face begins to blur. "Abigail?" Her voice seems far away like she's yelling at me underwater. Blackness begins to creep its way across the room. I blink my eyes, trying to wipe the black spots away, but they only grow. Then, they swallow Abigail whole.

But as it stepped forward into the faint blue glow spilling from the maze walls, the figure resolved into something far less human than I had hoped. The demon was tall. Taller than any man in our formation by nearly a full head. Its body was wrapped in dark armor that looked as though it had grown directly from its skin rather than been forged separately. Curving horns arched backward from its skull, their tips nearly brushing the stone walls as it stepped fully into the corridor. But it was the eyes that made several wolves behind me inhale sharply. They glowed. Not like reflected light. Like fire burning inside bone. Another demon stepped into view beside the first.

They watch for a moment before the screams of the people around them bring them back to focus. Zaire and Farris target a Demon that is attacking a young male. They go to tackle the Demon but he just turns to smoke and changes his focus from the male he was just enjoying to the two warriors now standing in front of him. Zaire attacks first. The Demon expecting this transforms the section of his body that would have been hit by him to smoke and Zaire's claws and fists go straight through him.

My eyes glowed intensely and a large orb of swirling dark energy slowly formed on my palms, "Deus Ex Mortem, heed my call. To bring forth destruction to this world's damned souls!" "Oblivio!" I screamed and the orb of dark energy discharged towards the group of demon sorcerers. A large explosion occurs reducing the demons into embers of dust and ashes. Through that feat, the Demons shrieked in horror once more. "He's an abomination!" One of them screamed. "Well, I had no reason to suspect that…." I tightly gripped my Short Sword once again and decidedly attacked the General for the second time. I need to make sure this one would connect.

Absentmindedly smoking a cigar, clad in a business blazer without a top hat or cane. Attention skimming over his phone in one hand, he hasn't seen us yet. My palms moisten in nervousness. I try to take cover behind Bev and Serge. Lately, the demon has been focusing disturbingly on me whenever we've crossed paths. The worst part of it all, he'd stare at my lips and then look me in the eyes. As if he was trying to communicate to me something inaudible just by that fierce gaze alone. Yet his overall visage was stony, which left me utterly perplexed.

“Those eyes! I keep seeing them! I close my eyes and there they are! I look in the mirror and there they are! I try to write and they burn through the paper at me! I try to look at the computer and they glare back at me!” She continued in a raised voice almost screaming in hysteria as she pointed to the computer screen. I looked over at it and could see that there was still a picture on the monitor. I walked over to the computer desk and saw a picture of a demon. It was red with black tribal tattoos on its face and amber yellow eyes. At the sight of those eyes, a cold chill ran up my back that could have frozen fire in mid burn. I froze in what seemed like terror that started deep in my gut.

As if on cue, his eyes snapped open. As his eyes flew open, both witches held their breaths for different reasons. His eyes were a lethal red as if dripping blood. His golden ethereal eyes were gone without a trace. His unwavering hazy stare numbed Laylin to her bones. His gaze was unfamiliar. He didn’t seem to be the man who gazed at her as if she hung the moon. She slid back slowly as fear set in. He was a demon. Her eyes searched for a slight resemblance in his features when black mist-like veins spread across his skin and surrounded his eyes.

Several minutes later, I heard footsteps from a side path I hadn't realized was cut into the rock. The first demon to appear around the corner was a mass of corded muscles and skin, the deep blue gray color of a storm-racked sky, and easily seven feet tall, with a pair of leathery wings folded tight against his back, and a pair of curling ram-like horns sweeping back from his temples. His eyes were a startling amber, his gaze cool and calculating, as though he had just finished taking in the four of us and was considering his response.

His true amber eyes were dim, shadowed with deep, crushing exhaustion, looking at me with immense sorrow. "Gideon" I cried, lunging forward across the cracked earth. Before I could reach him, a sudden, deafening roar tore through the sky. A towering wave of void fire erupted from the earth between us, solidifying into a massive, shadowy silhouette eight feet tall. The demon stood before me. It had no true face, only a swirling vortex of jagged, violet smoke and ancient, cold eyes that burned with anger. The air around it was so cold that the ash falling from the sky froze mid air into fine black needles.

He looked at me in shock and I could see the fear in his eyes when he looked at my arm. "Demon." I heard him say before running away from my room. I just asked why he seems to be scared. Who is the demon? Me? What is a demon by the way? Then when I got dressed I went out of the room and went to the kitchen, I saw a knife fall to the floor so I took it but I immediately let it go and closed my eyes because I saw something in my mind again. I saw the face of my mom and the girl with the horns again, mom was holding a knife and stabbed that girl with the horns, the girl did not know because she was sleeping.
