Suddenly there was a burst of bright orange light from the center of the field, followed by a scream of pain, and both my and Silas' heads shot up. I saw the three demons clutching each other, but Cole was nowhere to be found.

He tried to land a blow on my ribs, but I side-stepped it. He huffed, and then I smirked. I let my demon beside me, and then Zane launched again. Instead of side-stepping him, I allowed my demon to move me around. I turned around with incredible speed and landed a punch in Zane´s gut. He grunted and smirked. “Game on, brother,” he said, and I smirked. Zane again took a fighting stance, and then he launched at me. Mid-launch, I saw his vampire take full control. On instinct, my demon pushed me aside and moved to the side, jumping away, and landing on Zane´s back, landing a punch on his back.

He glanced at Dennis before fixing his gaze on Aleah, his expression unreadable. Cold Demon Alpha, Aleah thought to herself, her heart conflicted.
