Even when Azrik slowed the video to its lowest frame rate, none of us saw anything, no flicker, no blur, no movement, but they did.
Shaelith stood, went to the sideboard, grabbed a pencil and a piece of paper, and began sketching. Her hand moved quickly, as if guided by something instinctive.
When she finished, she turned the paper toward us. A rough but telling sketch of a face. Half-covered, dressed like an assassin.
“This is what you saw?” I asked softly.
She nodded. The drawing wasn’t perfect, it was a child’s hand, after all, but the details were distinct enough: a hood, angular jawline, a glint in one eye that remained visible. And a scar, just above the left brow.
