There was a tale passed through generations, reaching the 21st Century, about a group of werewolves’ special mutation that brings out dormant abilities from a family’s genetic line. The witch wanted to kill me–for whatever reason–using tainted wolves. “Can you fight?” Den asked me, but before I could respond, we heard a loud shriek from behind, then the sound of limbs tearing. Then another, and another, and before long, the tainted wolves had killed a larger number of the rogues, while the rest of us focused on evading their attacks

There was a profile of a stag in mid-air on one side of the medallion. ‘I have seen this on one of the guys back in Moonstone. Zak and Tara piled in. “Smart bitch,” Jake snapped, still working the trigger. “She’s not going down!” Zak barked, stitching a burst. “Body!” Jake yelled. They dragged fire off the skull. The she-wolf shrieked, rocked, then vaulted backward into the yard and vanished into the dark.
