When I pulled away at last, snuffling, I accepted the wad of tissues Liam shoved into my hands. I blew my nose noisily before dropping into the seat Sassy vacated. I scooted sideways and retrieved the book he'd been reading, not wanting to damage it, especially after how kind Liam was being. Wouldn't do to ruin one of his prized books. The red cover of the demon raising tome felt odd in my hands. It was only then, staring down at the fine pores in the texture of the material I really knew what I was holding.

The man fell to the ground, screaming in pain while Ares just rolled his eyes and threw the eyeball on the ground and stomped on it because squatting in front of the man. He grabbed the man by the hair and lifted his head up so they were eye leveled. “I told you I don’t do second chances but you are someone I’ve known for so long so I don’t want to kill you off just like that but if you don’t find a way to get me rid of this demon the next time we meet, I won’t just be taking away your other eye but also your life. Got that?” He pushed the man to the ground as he stood up then turned to Cornelius with a groan.

Her demeanor shows her awareness of her attractiveness and she reveled in it, turned her body slightly towards the doorway and positioned herself in a manner which shows her most attractive angle and pushed her ample chest, attracting even more lascivious attention. She tilted her head into a more seductive pose, strands of her hair partially hiding her eyes, unseen to everyone, the irises of her eyes which were dark, glowed dark red and a lighter shade around the pupils, giving an eerie feeling. I answered coolly. He strutted across the room and went to stand in a glass window where the outside showed a good angle of the veranda and the Winner Family pool. He smiled, pleased over something that he saw. I wondered what it was then. What is advantageous of being a demon is that we get to read another person's mind. We can use it for or against them. But before an angel, we are helpless. It is either they have barriers in their too-holy brains or they are just dead on imagination. I prefer to think it is the latter.

I had to move fast. I turned through the pages of the spell book with shaky hands until I finally settled on what I was searching for. “Thrakos, Demon of the Underworld, Lord of Hell,” I whispered, my fingers tracing the forbidden verse. “He who commands the forbidden flames of the devil's domain,” my voice grew louder, desperation etched in my eyes, "I call thee, Thrakos. I summon thee to the mortal realm. Kneel before–” The sound of thunder cracking cut me short before I could complete my words. The ground began to rumble and the circle I had engraved on the ground expanded outwards as dark smoke clouded the entire place.
