My Obsession
Cosimo appeared from the door leading to the basement, hands shoved firmly into his pockets.
“Where is Amara?” I demanded, anger lacing my words, though concern ran just as strong beneath it. My fists clenched at my sides, ready to act.
“Killian, she’s dangerous. She’s the one behind all the murders we’ve been dealing with. All the attacks in our clubs…they were hers. I don’t know how we didn’t see it before. She’s in the basement, unconscious, but she’s fine.”
His voice was calm, measured, careful. He knew a single wrong word from him would unleash my fury immediately. I didn’t care if he was my brother; no one threatened the people I cared about without consequences.
