Den of Alphas

Den of Alphas

Even if I could, she would simply turn the pack against me with her sharp tongue and sharper intentions. “Very well,” I said finally. “I will consider it.” Heath studied me. “Cyrus… this worries you more than you’re saying.” “Yes,” I admitted. “Because if Draven fails… it will not just be his shame.” It would be mine. As the meeting dispersed, my mind replayed Draven’s past failures with painful clarity. There was the time I sent him to negotiate with the Eastern Traders. He returned having overpaid them, swayed by their sob story about starving children.

Thorns of Lust: A Dark Mafia Romance

Thorns of Lust: A Dark Mafia Romance

Nobody in the underworld was innocent. Some of us were worse than the others. Nonetheless, that chip could put all of us behind bars and get us executed. It would expose our world, but not only the Thorns of Omertà’s world, but also all of the others. Kingpins. Billionaire Kings. Cosa Nostra. Cartels. Yakuza.

The Luck Thieves

The Luck Thieves

I took the locket; its cool weight and fine craftsmanship spoke of generations. He tried to speak, his eyes desperate, but could only stammer. I leaned in close, reading the frantic plea in his gaze. "Dad, you want me to say it, don't you? That you'll get better soon?" I examined the locket in my palm. "Don't worry. Now that I have something of yours, I'll be kind." I tucked the blanket neatly around him and whispered into his ear, "Don't worry. You will get better." When his expression brightened with a flicker of hope, I added, my tone dropping to a calm, chilling murmur, "I know your secret. I know how you borrow luck."

I beamed. "Crazy, isn't it?" "Fucking crazy, for real." "First, we put THE DA VINCI CODE by DAN BROWN here." He picked out the book and inserted it in the center line of the shelf. He put HOW TO STOP TIME by MATT HAIG, followed by EVERGREEN by NAOMI HIRAHARA. "Then KISS THE GIRLS by JAMES PATTERSON." He put it next to the first book. "I've read that." I went on in a spur of excitement. "It's a thriller and mystery novel about a detective who's trying to track down a serial killer. So many twists and cliffhangers. Total page-turner." I giggled.

I chirp giving her a wide smile. She doesn't respond, but simply looks away, turning pale. *** Days have passed since my shopping trip with my mother and today I'm spending the night with Miss Ann while mother works. Miss Ann is one of the nice ladies who work with mother. She watches me while mother works and will even tend to us when we are sick. I really like her! "Miss Ann, have you seen this book? It's one that mother got for me when we went out shopping. It's an old book on tactical warfare," I shout excitedly while practically shoving the book in her face.

A DEN IN THE WOODS

A DEN IN THE WOODS

" Leah nodded and looked away as if she was trying to preserve every piece of information I'd just given her, and me on the other hand kept wondering if my life will be truly complete if I had my mate. " Can you take me to the Den, Zachary"? I was completely lost in thought, and suddenly snapped out of it when she asked that question,I looked at her and wondered why'd she wants to go to the den. " Are you nuts, Leah?" " Am perfectly sane, Zachary and I'd just want you to show me the Den….Take me on a tour, I'll promise to behave and do what you tell me to, please" " No!" " Zachary, please…..it's the least you could do after ignoring me for that period"

The Mafia Lord And His Spy Lover (Book 1)

The Mafia Lord And His Spy Lover (Book 1)

“The rat confessed he knew Nico was tied to the Ivanovs. Nico pulled off three more club ambush like this one and he had all those girls transported to the warehouse here in New York. Only, the rat doesn’t know where it is.” “What did you think?” I stood up from the chair and walked around the glass table. The walls of this office were thick, which was why, despite being a floor above a club, no sound could interrupt business here. “Does he really not know where this warehouse is?” “I believe he does,” Julian said with utter confidence. The reason he was my best enforcer was that he was quick in assessing the behaviour of his opponent and bloody brilliant at thinking. “He was lying through h

Beware the Heart Thief

Beware the Heart Thief

Dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, Oliver crouched beside me with a small notebook in hand and solemnly read aloud his thought report from the night before. "...In summary, when my owner blasted weird, loud, and annoying noises on the outdoor dancer speaker yesterday, she profoundly expressed her unique insight into postmodern deconstructive art. Her uniquely independent spirit deeply captivated me. "I love her so much that I'm drawn to her like a moth to a flame." He finished reading and looked at me expectantly. "My owner, did I use that phrase correctly?" "Half correct," I said, mixing paint without looking up. "You're definitely the moth, but I'm not the flame; I'm an electric bug zap

Everyday For The Thief: A Chaotic and Poetic Mafia Romance

6:05pm The lounge area in his london safe house, usually Hades’s sanctuary of cold calculations, felt unsettled. He stood by the massive desk, a glass of dark whiskey in his hand, the Scottish content swirling as restlessly as his thoughts. The court victory over Mayor Thorne was satisfying, yes, but it was wifey who truly held his attention. Her sharp mind, her unexpected fire in court, her fierce defense of his interests—it all impressed him. And fuck! Her curves in those suits. It also rattled him. He was a king who built his empire on suspicion, never trust.

Preguntas frecuentes

Reading 'Den of Thieves' feels like peeling an onion—layers of hidden details reveal themselves with each pass. One subtlety I noticed is how the author uses weather to mirror the characters' emotional states. For instance, during a tense negotiation scene, a sudden storm brews, symbolizing the chaos in their lives. Another detail is the recurring motif of clocks, hinting at the characters' race against time. The book’s cover art, often overlooked, actually contains a coded message related to the plot. These nuances make the story richer and more immersive.

Another layer is the dialogue. At first glance, it seems straightforward, but there’s a rhythm to it that mirrors the characters' internal conflicts. The protagonist’s stammer increases as his stress levels rise, a detail that’s easy to miss but adds depth. The author also plants subtle foreshadowing in seemingly casual conversations. For example, a throwaway line about a character’s fear of heights becomes crucial in the climax. These hidden gems make 'Den of Thieves' a book that rewards close reading.
