I don't beg for grain, and I don't ask for permission to survive. Sign the damn treaty, or I’ll take my men and leave you to explain to your people why the council is headless and the silos are empty."

They didn't waver. “Fair.” I frowned. “You’re not denying it?” Luciano walked slowly towards the window in the room, his hands resting loosely behind his back. “No.” “So what is this?” I demanded. “A game?” “No.” “Then what?” He turned slightly, looking at me again. “You assume every Alpha behaves like Dane.” Suddenly I felt my stomach ache by the sound of the name. “Don’t pretend you’re different,” I snapped. “You bought me. Collin's Luna spoke up from the other end of the table. Alpha Alexander had a blank expression on his face, but he was not smiling nor did he respond to her comment. Alpha Collin took it from there "You've had too much to drink, have you not Alexander? Otherwise, you won't disrupt a gathering such as this with such announcement."
