“Sit on the edge of the desk. Let me show you what I mean.” Mia hesitated for a second, then did as he asked. She sat on the wooden desk, her short skirt riding up her thighs. Kane rolled his chair closer until his knees were between her legs. The air between them felt thick. “You write about forbidden desire,” he continued, his hand resting on the thesis paper right next to her bare thigh, “but your words are too safe and too clean.” His fingers brushed lightly against her skin. “Real desire isn’t polite, Mia. It’s messy and makes you ache. It makes smart girls like you do stupid things.”

That weird voice in my head of an old man ruined my mood. I neglected it first, but it came back over and over. "Fuck off, old man!" I shouted in my head. The pure intensity of the truth takes me aback. He looks tempted to grab me and take me away from this life, so we can be together elsewhere, where neither of us have any obligations. I even feel tempted to take that offer.

Should I write her name on my heart or the awareness of my existence on her lips? After her disappearing from life, desires started awakening within me. Desires to look into her eyes, sit with her for hours. To hold her hand in mine, to run my fingers through her hair. To listen to her words for hours, to feel her presence. These desires have taken root in my mind, all based on the hope that one day I will meet her and fulfill all the desires. Then, I will stop her from leaving again. I'll keep these desires in my mind, hoping that one day she will meet me to fulfill them. Then, I will keep her close to me and never let her go again.
