He didn’t flinch, eyes locked on the monitor. “I see them. Cover me.”
Elara gritted her teeth and stepped into the doorway, taking careful aim. Her shots dropped one of the attackers, and the second stumbled back into a shattered wall. The third pressed forward, nearly reaching the chamber’s threshold.
Dominic hit a series of keys rapidly, his voice calm but tense. “Firewall extension, now!”
Lines of code cascaded across the screen as a new defensive protocol activated. A holographic grid of digital energy seemed to pulse from the terminal into the servers. On the monitor, the virus slowed, trapped within Dominic’s containment loops, but only temporarily.
