She adored them.
She stopped by a small shop in the square. She bought some animal cookies, two alfajores, and a jar of honey with a rustic label. She wrapped them in a paper bag with a smile.
When she rang the doorbell at Santiago's house, the quick, disorderly footsteps she heard from inside made her smile even more. The door flew open, and two little bodies instantly surrounded her.
“Aunt Aylin!”
“Hello, my darlings!” she said, dropping the bag to hug them. “But how big you are!”
