I quickly finished cleaning his baby butt and put the new, clean diaper on after smearing some diaper rash cream around his crotch. Sometimes when I would be at home the whole day, I did not put a diaper on him but used one of those baby panties so he would not get rash from the friction with the plastic at the edge of the diaper.
