I cried harder, clinging to him, my tears soaking into his bloodstained shirt.
But then his lips curved faintly, the ghost of the smile I had fallen in love with. “I’m alive,” he whispered, his voice steadier now. “And that’s enough. We’ll get stronger together. Because we have to kill Draco. He’s plotting something darker than we’ve ever seen.”
At his words, my tears slowed. I lifted my head, searching his face, and found not just pain, but determination burning in that one remaining eye.
I nodded firmly, gripping his hand tighter. “Then we’ll hunt him. Together. We’ll burn his schemes to ash.”
