Prologue Daniel's POV I went on with my life, not expecting even a tiny bit of happiness to find me, I was just living under the dark side of life. Killing, hunting monsters. No happiness, not even love. Nothing could reach my frozen soul. That is, if I had a soul.

Within the huge castle, in the oversized throne room, were 8 figures standing in a semicircle around one. “Is the process done, Xero?” The figure in the middle asked. “Yes. With their amount, we only have to play the waiting game.” Said the cyborg. “Good. While we wait, we shall strengthen our forces. We may have lost before, however, this time will be different.” The figure smirked. Something big was about to happen that would flip the entire world. Matthew and Rose had just started their basic training to becoming a Hunter, along with several thousand others that was an abnormal amount. What is about to happen in the future?

I said, and he stood up. "You can't match their strength physically," he protested. " You will only end up hurting yourself and aggravating your assaulters," he pointed out, but I shook my head. "Did you not say Hunters had a special ability and could match supernatural beings' abilities? Maybe if I learn to fight, I can tap into that ability if I am truly a Hunter." I pointed out, and for a brief second, I saw a sad expression on Oscar's face. It was as if he knew something that I did not know and couldn't tell me.

I squealed in mock terror. “You’ve awakened a hungry monster, Luna. It needs to be fed.” Hunter pinned me to the bed, straddling me. “Oh? And what does the hungry monster want?” I laughed up at him, teasingly slicking my tongue over my lips. “To eat this…” he said as he dove between my legs, tearing at my panties with his teeth. ***

They stopped before me, the engines coming off one after the other. Henrique Crimson Sparrow took off his helmet, his short strawberry blonde visible under the full moon's light. He had a scar running down his chin. He smiled, stepping off his bike. “You nuts have a death wish, Xavier? Coming here alone?” I smiled back, a cold smile devoid of any humor. “Who says I’m alone?” Henrique Crimson Sparrow looked confused, and looked around the space. Henrique followed my movements with his eyes. Then, the forest came to life.

Travis and Lamia had a connection and despite the troubles Travis had with his wolf, which was making more and more sense to me now I knew his wolf, Janus, was the god of doors and passages – the gatekeeper to other realms. Birdie tipped to the side and began to descend. Closing in on the base of a tall mountain that was topped with snow. The peak was barely visible under a haze of misty clouds. Soon enough Xander landed the flying contraption. “This is where I leave you!” Xander shouts over the whirls of the blades. He points towards two massive trees that look out of place, “Head in that direction, follow the path and you should be met by a sentry for Mount Xenia.”
