Lexi's head snapped to the screaming child cradled in the medic's arms and she felt relief wash over her as the medic gave her a small smile. "Get it out of here and keep it safe. The father is Alpha Brad of the Crystal Pack." She said solemnly as she reached across and trailed her fingers lightly over Ada's unseeing eyes, closing them for one last time.

I roared, about to push her away, but I heard Alpha Hadar's voice. "Don't dare touch my Luna!" yelled Alpha Hadar. Using his werewolf speed, he pushed that woman away from me.

A few tight jaws. Alpha Carson, a tall man with cold gray eyes, leaned forward, his voice smooth but mocking. “Forgive me, Luna Ruby, but perhaps it would be best to postpone matters until Roman returns. These... decisions require a certain strength.” I tilted my head slightly. “Are you suggesting I lack strength, Alpha Carson?” The room went still. He held my gaze but said nothing. His silence was answer enough. Another Alpha, younger but just as foolish, chuckled under his breath. “Maybe you were only strong because of him.”

Bryant rolled his eyes. “You’re not in uniform, so I don’t have to listen to you,” Alex huffed. “And she’s my best friend. Not letting some random guy go after her,” he added. “Luna, you remember me? But, fortunately, Fedrich and Melton did. … After half a day, they have finally reached their destination.
