Insects chirped and birds flapped their wings as they took to the sky as the horse, Ragaleon, was mounted on, trampled on grasses. Ragaleon takes out the bow and arrow, his keen gaze scrutinizing the woods. Suddenly he hears a faint noise; he turns around but seems to see nothing. He then focused his gaze on the path ahead; suddenly, he caught sight of a deer. He takes an arrow from the numerous arrows in a bag attached to the horse. He aimed at the deer and shot. The arrow flies with a straight wind and hits the deer in the stomach. The deer becomes alert and tries to run, but Ragaleon shoots another arrow, and it hits the deer by the legs.

The other couples had also stopped and were watching the deer too. The buck led. He walked right up to Miles and licked his hand. Miles was aware that wild deer didn't approach humans, but he knew these deer were in no danger from them, and that these deer knew it. After licking Miles' hand the buck moved on and the large doe followed, brushing gently against Miles as she passed. The smaller doe walked up, looked up at Miles' face and took two steps more then licked Bette's hand. Bette didn't think, she just reached slowly out and stroked the deer from right behind the head down the back of her neck to her shoulders. When she lifted her hand the doe walked off, following the other two deer.

I slowly turned, praying I hadn't been discovered. Instead of a threat, a deer emerged from the foliage, but as soon as it saw me, it bolted. Instinctively, I followed, my werewolf speed kicking in. I sprinted through the forest, dodging branches and leaping over fallen logs. The chase lasted for about a minute, my senses focused on the deer. When I caught up to it, I swiftly snapped its neck, preventing any chance of injury.

I murmured softly and stopped near him. "Yes it is, now get ready to chase". We both stood our ground, motionless and waiting for our prey to come out in the open. Behind a huge bark of a tree, the white tailed deer came out. I snarled and get ready to tackle him but the deer heard me and quickly ran. "Hurry Princess! Don't let your meal get away". He nudged my body to run and follow the deer inside the forest. So I quickly moved my furry legs to follow the direction in which the deer go.

Five thin-legged fawn wobbled with their mothers to the lake’s edge. A few of the deer glanced my way, but continued unbothered to the lake. I watched as the lead buck approached the waters and dipped its head to drink. I watched the muscles in its strong neck move, and traced over the white spots in its chestnut fur. I had seen deer in countless movies and films, and knew they were quick to spook. These deer paid me little attention, as though I were just another animal in this vast forest. “Watch closely, darling.” A deep, musical voice murmured from behind me. “This is my favorite part.”

Victor’s wolf entered the woods while I crouched in the high grasses and remained silent. Soon I heard the sound of hoofs running my way. When the doe ran out of the trees, Diana and I sprang to our feet and were right behind her. Diana’s pleasure at running after the deer mirrored my own. We were pursuing it for the joy of the chase. The swift-moving creature challenged our abilities and found us up to the task. Within a few seconds, Victor/Adam was by our side in pursuit of the large female deer. Even though it was running as fast as it could, we were closing in on it. Victor and Adam were running at the deer’s right flank while Diana and I were on its right.

I continued to watch as the men surrounded the deer and one of them shifted to his wolf form so that getting the deer would be very easy for them. The deer tried to get away as it saw the wood in its front but since wolves were naturally fast, the killing of the deer was an easy-breezy thing for the werewolf. When the others saw that the deer was dead, they rejoiced and cheered the other man in while he shifted back and he dressed up again.

Suddenly, it turns his head to the left and runs. He stops next to an area with tall grass and approaches little by little, very slowly, keeping the body hidden from the prey that was grazing carefree. When he's at a considerable and safe distance, it launches the attack. Frightened, the deer reverses its position, and does not realize that it's running into the river. The water slows down his movements, and Ice lunges at him and sinks his sharp teeth into his neck. The animal struggles, but is dragged to the riverbank, and then deeper into the forest, near Ryan's backpack.

Danica whispers. “Have you ever seen a deer?” I ask. “No.” We stare at the beast as it flares its nostrils and sniffs the air. “Maybe the wolves ate them all,” I whisper. She turns to me and laughs, head back and free. It’s such an endearing sound. I made her laugh! In the nearby field, Jenkins starts his Land Rover, spooking the buck. It rears back, turns, and bolts over the drystone wall into some scrubland.
