The Cold Alpha and His Mate

* Alpha Zero*

As the cold and soft white powder, pour down gracefully from the sky. I stood at the top of a cold mountain covered in the thick layer of snow. It's the usual winter in the Cold Mountains of the North. The place where i was born, and the place where i swore to protect the inhabitants and to spend the rest of my life. My white fur is soaked and my snout is freezing but my heart is warmed with rage. I have my red eyes fastened directly at the horrible sight of rogues approaching my lands.

I watched as they run out from the frozen trees and make their filthy paws pierced in the land covered with white snow, they move their nose upwards and sniff the air for a scent to hunt. How dare this low lives came to cross the Cold Mountain pack territory! 

They came as an army of wolves desperate for power and greed for food, they want what's mine. They are the wolves who refuse to be an ally to the Alpha King and they didn't believe in the power of the Moon Goddess, as the creator of all the wolves in the land. 

But without the creator where would the werewolves be? How could these wolves live like this? they are a disgrace unto our race. That rats are even better than them! They have no control as beasts, they have lost the knowledge to choose between good and evil. They lived without rules, with no pride and honor to uphold, how i despised them!

My Beta Derek, stays behind me as we watched the marching of those vile creatures nearing to our traps. I only have about fifty warriors behind me but they are the best. Twice bigger than the rogues and they will kill every last one of them in my command.

"Get ready Beta, and i will give you the signal to attack!".

"Loud and clear Alpha Zero."

With my sharp eyes I am sure to conquer them, in my mind they already lost.

The rogues tried to slow down while sniffing the air again, there were almost a hundred of them but their warrior's number did not even reached twenty as I noticed. The she wolves in their group looked weaker and I know that they are starving for something to eat. They must have travelled for days in search for a good place to hunt.

"Sorround them so they will have no choice but to step into our traps."

I once again instructed Beta Derek to start executing the plan.

It was in a couple of minutes when I heard their whines and growls. Few of them have already stepped into a huge hole, the trap that we have made, it was full of sharp spear standing at the bottom of every pit ready to cut the bodies of our enemies in half. Any wolf that is not aware of the place or a wolf that tresspasses our lands, will fall directly into our traps. Because it was neatly disguised as a snowy path, no one knows unless they are from the Cold Mountain pack.

My white and thick fur is already covered in snow so i shook my body vigorously and slide down the slope to meet the rogues. I saw the fear in their eyes, the surprised that they never expected as my army came into view. The big dark wolf in front stepped back and wasted no time to run. If I am not mistaken, he is the said leader of the rogues. 

"What a coward! Catch him and don't let them get away. You have my permission to hunt them down and kill every male wolves that you see! As for the she wolves, keep them alive if they don't fight. Bring them as prisoners until I decide their fate!".

"Yes Alpha Zero!" My big warriors almost replied together as they moved to continue executing my orders.

My warriors immediately tackled on the rogues who was not able to escape quickly, the growling and whimpering of the she wolves echoed in the cold mountain of snow. There were few who fought back against us but lost their lives. 

I have let my warriors run first as I stay behind.

"Alpha, the rogues are heading to the Royal Pack territory!"

Beta Derek informed me through the mind linked. I greeted my teeth. "What the fuck! I cursed through my head.

I thought they couldn't run that far anymore. I have underestimated their will. I never wanted to create conflict with the Alpha King as this will result as the fault of my pack who chased down the rogues.

"Damn it! Chase them! And don't let them cross the border of the Royal Pack, I'll be right behind you.”

I sprint and run fast, unmindful of the thick snow on the ground. When I caught up with Beta Derek and my other warriors in the Pack, we are already at the end of the Cold Mountain Pack's territory.

"Alpha, they have gotten inside. If my count is correct, there were about more than twenty who got in. I wonder where are the Royal pack warriors, there has been no one to blocked their trespass."

I have also find it odd, I stepped near the border and looked back as my Beta hesitated.

"Follow me! I am trying to mind linked the Alpha King!.

The scent of the Royal pack warriors is still lingering in the air, along with the stench of the rogues. The one's that we are chasing.

"Alpha King Jack, I asked permission to enter your lands. We meant no harm as the rogues that we chased, ran inside your territory".

I heard his harsh breathing in the air. Is he mad? If he is, I am not afraid. This is a matter of safety in between our packs and months ago I have sworn my alliance to the Alpha King.

"Alpha King, do you hear me?

I tried a question since a few seconds have passed and there was no answer from him.

"I heard you Alpha Zero... I am in the middle of a fight. I think the rogues that you chased are here right now, fighting with my warriors". His voice sounded rough.

I let out a harsh breath. "Do we have your permission to help and to enter your territory?".

"Yes! Just follow their scent. We are not far from the border."

I smirked in my mind when I heard his answer. The Alpha King sounded, desperate and not ready for the rogues attacked. Normally, the rogues are afraid to cross the border of the Royal Pack. As it is rumored, they will know it before you even plan of entering their place. They have a wizard who can see the future and this made their enemies scared to even try and plot against them.

"Let's go everyone! I have the Alpha King's permission to enter their territory. Follow my lead!".

As an Alpha, my sense of smell has the highest level of scent recognition. I could smell the weather as it changes, the humans as they sometimes trespassed our lands. I could also smell the feelings of the wolves in my pack, their fears, their happiness and their honesty. Mostly the basic emotions of their human form. I could smell mostly everything except for the stupid idea of a mate. The only scent that I have no desire to smell, it's the reason why I have let an ancient warrior witch of the pack to masked it for me.

It didn't took long for us to find the Royal pack warriors and the Alpha King himself, they are occupied in fighting with the rogues.

"Help the Royal pack warriors and kill the rogues!

I shouted through mind linked as I saw the Alpha King strugless to fight as they are clearly outnumbered by the rogues.

"Yes Alpha!".

I heard my warriors answered before running fast to join the fight.

I ran as fast as I could to help the alpha King when I notice two of the rogues are fighting with his wolf form. But an arrow was faster as I notice it flew from the sky, I could smell the stench of one of the most powerful weapon against our race. 

"Silver!".

And it is going to hit him. My eyes widens as my claws clutches on the ground, but another wolf is faster than the silver arrow.

His Beta wolf shielded his own body against the silver arrow aimed for the Alpha King.

He receives the arrow with his body of fur, causing it's sharp tip to sink in his neck, and another one came and hit him in the chest as he stands to blocked the Alpha King's figure from the blow. He whimpered twice in every hit. When he landed on the ground, another arrow was shot to the Alpha King in the... heart.

"Nooo!". I shouted through my mind.

My heart thump violently inside my chest, as I looked around me with a huge question in my head. Who is holding an arrow? Where the hell did it came from? I couldn't smell another scent. It's impossible for the rogues to have brought a weapon as mighty as a silver arrow and a bow. 

The wolves don't carry a weapon on a fight. Our wolf form is already our most ultimate weapon to kill. But right now I have a strong hunched.

 There is another enemy, I just can't determine the scent. Aside from the scent of the rogues and the Royal pack warriors in the air, I have not caught another scent.

But a bow and an arrow only means one thing. It is operated by a skilled human hands. 

Unable to walked near the injured Alpha King, I heard the Royal pack warriors howled loudly as they have sensed that their Alpha and Beta is wounded.
