Greta says, her voice low as we approach a clearing.
A small herd of deer grazes unaware, their ears flicking occasionally as they sense something amiss. We fan out, surrounding them silently.
Mia’s eyes flick to mine, and I nod, silently encouraging her. She crouches low, her muscles tensing as she prepares to pounce.
When the moment comes, we move as one.
The deer scatter, but it’s no use. Together, we bring one down, our combined strength overwhelming.
Mia is the first to step back, panting but triumphant. The others let out more howls of celebration, and for the first time, Mia joins in without hesitation.
