I wake up after a blissful night’s sleep and see the room is covered in dappled light where the sun is shining through the trees. I’m the first one awake so I quietly get up and make myself a coffee. Penelope walks over for a fuss, so I give her a big squish and then take her outside. Although it’s still early morning, the sun is warm, and I enjoy the hot coffee as I settle down on a garden chair.
