I track the large male deer about a mile away from the house near the river that feeds the lake. “Nice,” Hanzo links, looking at me and I nod slowly moving in the opposite direction of Hanzo to trap the deer if it bolts. “Ready?” Hanzo questions once we’re both in position giving him a clear line to the neck. I nod lowering myself ready to sprint as Hanzo launches himself onto the deer knocking it down, his teeth instantly going into the animal’s neck. I immediately jump grabbing at the back legs hobbling the kicking deer. Chills run through me when I hear the crunching of bone from Hanzo’s grip.

They watched in silence for a few minutes, marveling at the beauty of the creatures. Suddenly, one of the deer looked up and spotted them. It took off, and the others followed in a flurry of movement. Darell suggested they try to follow them, to see if they could catch up. The three of them set off at a run, darting through the trees and laughing uncontrollably. They were all out of breath by the time they caught up to the deer, but they didn't care. They were caught up in the moment, filled with the joy of the adventure.

And then, suddenly, he spotted a deer, its large brown eyes watching him warily. Alpha Logan's heart leapt with excitement as he chased after the deer, his horse pounding the earth beneath its hooves. He drew his bow and arrow, taking aim at the deer as it bounded through the forest. With a swift and deadly motion, Alpha Logan released the arrow, watching as it soared through the air and struck the deer with precision. The deer let out a faint cry as it fell to the ground, and Alpha Logan dismounted his horse, approaching the deer with a sense of pride and accomplishment.

Then, just like a Disney movie I've seen as a child, a small fawn walks out of the shadows into the sunlight and puts one hoof in front of the other timidly while staring wide-eyed at us. I jump down from Sebastian's back, "It's...it's a baby deer!" I say relieved. "It's only a baby deer. W-why didn't you say so, Sebastian?" He knits his brows at me, "Please tell me you're kidding." The fawn stands still, unsure of whether or not to approach us. All three of us engage in an intense staring contest for well over two minutes until the baby deer walks towards us. Sebastian kneels down and encourages the deer to come closer, in which it tips his head down and sniffs Sebastian's hand and arm.

Here, every creature leaves a trace. “Don’t get too excited,” I told Lena. “When you actually see one, remember to keep your face under control.” She smirked confidently. “Relax. I have professionalism.” I chuckled softly and said nothing more. And then the deer slowly stepped out from the treeline. Sunlight hit its sleek form. Ears flicking, eyes impossibly clean. Lena froze, holding her breath like she’d accidentally stumbled into a fairytale. “Don’t stare too long,” I whispered.

Even in the dark, they glow as if made from gold. She inclines her head at Hera and we slowly move closer to the deer, not wanting to startle her. Usually, deer refuse to be around wolves. He gazed at the several trees that were currently moving left and right together as if they were dancing together. 'What did he mean by that? I've never heard him talk carelessly like he just did; is it possible that this place really has such mystical things?' Venus thought, then looked back at the windshield beside her. Inching forward the deer takes calculated, careful steps towards the boy, watching to see if he would react or move. Assuming it was safe, the deer walks forward, taking a sniff of Teigen's hair. Teigen begins to twitch from the moist intrusion, swatting away at the deer but it continues to lick his cheek. Birdsong was in full swing as the landscape around her came awake. Sudden movement up ahead and to her left startled her and she stopped, heart racing. When the bushes parted, Maddie was face to face with a gorgeous doe. The deer looked at her for a long moment, then crossed the path in front of Maddie to continue her journey to the lake’s edge for a drink. A dainty little fawn trotted along after its mother, pausing only to regard Maddie for a moment with its wide brown eyes before flicking its tail and disappearing, as the doe had, into the bushes on the trail’s right side.
