In seconds, we come upon an open field. Deer. We’ve found a freaking herd of deer. Ronan picks a target, never slowing down. I’m amazed at how easy it is to keep up. Although he is larger, I seem to be just as fast. The herd of deer breaks apart, scattering in various directions. The one my mate is intent on, a large, gorgeous doe, makes a beeline for trees at the end of the clearing. It doesn’t make it, unable to outrun the wolves in pursuit.
