I slipped inside, leaving the door ajar. Walking to the small shelf above her bed, I glided my hand over the books—princess stories and lullabies. I had never been read a bedtime story as a child. I didn’t have that privilege, as both Mama and Papa were equally busy in their own understandable way. I picked up one of the ridiculously pink decorative books. It was titled The Princess and the Frog. I flipped through the pages and finished the whole thing, unable to stop the smile curling my lips.

I raised a brow, smiling as their eyes gaped at me. "Is daddy going to be here with us tomorrow?" "If he rounds up his meeting tonight, then yes, he will be with us through the day tomorrow. And I'm sure you would not want to miss all of that sleeping now would you?" "Nope," they said in unison, slipping lower beneath the covers. Feeling satisfied after convincing them to sleep, I took out one of the books from the library of books in the prince and princess-themed room and read them a story before kissing each of them goodnight.

I looked down at the girl who looked sleepy in my arms. “Sure, princess.” I picked her and led her to my room with her favourite story book. I laid her down on my bed and covered her properly with the blanket. Laying beside her, I opened the book to read her all time favourite story, “The Beauty and The Beast”. “I want to listen the Sleeping Beauty.” She said but her heavy eyes were indicating that she might pass out sooner. “Leah, can I ask you a question about your friend Ace?” I asked her in a hope she could give me a lead.
