I looked forward and gasped when I noticed that there was a pack of strong wolves fifty meters ahead of us. I cursed in my mind, surely these wolves were rogues, stationed to keep a perimeter check around the rogue camp. Addison stumbled and I nearly lost my grip on her. I turned around to look at what had happened and noticed that Damon had bit a chunk off of Addison's tail and it was leading a bloody trail behind us.

Hailey's pov; Upon hearing Austin's claim that he was a vampire, I took a sick leave from school and remained at home. When questioned by my parents about my absence, I reported feeling unwell. My younger brother, Charlie, disregarded the situation and proceeded to attend school as usual. In the meantime, I conducted extensive research on vampires. After poring over numerous sources, one commonality emerged - vampires are not real. It became apparent that the internet cannot always be relied upon for factual information.

“Someone make it make sense.” “Look,” Addison snaps, slapping at a particularly aggressive mosquito, “I hate marching through this bug-infested forest as much as anyone, but bitching about it isn’t going to do us any good.” Her foot—clad in what might be the least hiking-friendly high heel I’ve ever seen—catches on an exposed root, and she nearly falls on her face, barely regaining her balance in time.
